Summary: This is our second time staying at Marissa’s house! The views are incredible! My family enjoys the pool and the easy access to the beach (must climb stairs- great exercise). The place was a bit dusty but I’m sure it’s because of the constant wind. The day we got there, there was some wind storm at night! The housekeepers are very helpful. Very nice family. The house is about 1/2 hr from a supermarket, so you have to plan ahead. There isn’t a big selection of restaurants to order from, unless you leave the house and drive to some close by restaurants! Marissa was having work done at the house during our stay, which was an inconvenience for us and I wasn’t made aware. Marissa checked in on us and I brought it up to her attention and she was very receptive! I was also confused about check in and check out time. The app has it listed for 10am check in and 7pm check out, when I spoke to Santos (housekeeper) he said it was 12pm but that we could leave by 1pm latest. I feel like communication needs a bit of improvement. I should’ve reached out to Marissa, but at that point it didn’t make a big difference for us. My husband and kids love the house and they look forward to coming back every year! El Salvador is a beautiful place to spend a family vacation in & this place has made all the difference!

Summary: Incredible place to stay !!! The view is amazing, the rooms are super comfy and Angelita, Karen & Santos are just adorable ! They are just so helpfull and so nice :D ! I've got only EXCELLENT comments about this Villa ! I'm certainly coming back :)

Summary: My second stay at peniscola and wont be my last. For those of you curious.... private beach, private pool, ac, wifi, tons of places to veg out, relax, read and soak up beauty. El Zonte is a special place... a little off the beaten path but so much the better. The pictures dont do it justice..sunsets are magical. Santos/Karen are such a pleasure and super helpful...at this point I consider them friends.

Summary: The house is more than beautiful, it has a lot of space to just hang around in it. Perfect for vacations or even a just a weekend. The owner is a lovely person. We enjoyed our stay, the weather, the view and the accommodations are 100% recommended. Once again, it is a perfect place to stay and have a lovely time!!

Summary: Fantastic coastal property with spectacular views, luxurious grounds, friendly and helpful staff and great accommodations. Great for a romantic get-away or a large family reunion. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay - the beach with private access, outdoor shower, pool area, outdoor dining, gazebo for dramatic sunsets, and expansive grounds. Beachcombing, night-time ocean dips, and the sunsets were our favorite. We were also close to wonderful 3 and 4 star dining. We will definitely return as soon as possible!

Summary: We visited for 8 days and the house was great. The house overlooked a nearly private beach that we went swimming and surfing at every day. The owner was very helpful in getting all of our needs met. I'd recommend this house especially for multiple families.

Summary: This property far exceeded our expectations. Came here for a 9-day surf trip with some friends and was completely blown away. There are three main hang-out areas: the main house with 3 bedrooms and a large open veranda with a bunch of hammocks; the gazebo on the point, incredible view; the west residence which houses the kitchen, 2 bedrooms and abuts the pool. Pool very, very nice and relaxing. Private steps down to a private beach and a hideaway, super-refreshing outdoor shower. It is a walk to the main surf point but well worth it for the beauty of this house. It should also be noted that the 2 bedrooms in the west building do not have air conditioning, but everyone was quite comfortable with the ceiling fans nonetheless. Santos and Karin took exceptional care of our party. Cooking when we asked, guiding the uninitiated into La Libertad for supplies on occasion. I have been to Playa El Zonte many times but most of my friends had not. Now they will all be coming back.

Summary: My husband and I stayed at Casa Peniscola five nights during the first half of our honeymoon in El Salvador. This house is amazing, with truly gorgeous views from any spot on the spacious property. As others have mentioned, the master bedroom is spacious and filled with light, while the other four bedrooms (with 2 twin beds each) are smaller and more basic, but certainly clean and suitable. The kitchen is well stocked if you are cooking your own meals (as we did), with great grilling options on the back patio. We did not rent a car, but often caught the bus which passes on the street outside the gated driveway. It is .25 or .50 cents for a bus ride down the coast to other surf spots (Sunzal etc.) or to La Libertad. You can walk 10 minutes to surf El Zonte point break, or surf the beach break in front of the house. We found we didn't really need a car at all. Our favorite aspect about the house was the many different spots outdoors to sit or relax- from the shady gazebo overlooking the ocean to the three giant hammocks, to cushioned couches, wooden tables, breakfast nooks, poolside lounging chairs, etc. etc. The landscaping is impeccable as well. From the property, you can walk down the spiral stone staircase to the ocean (passing by an awesome outdoor shower!), to explore a magnificent natural arch/cave and black sand beach. Such an incredible spot!!! Finally, Santos and Karin were lovely and helpful hosts. Thank you, Marisa, for giving us such a fabulous experience and memorable honeymoon!!!

Summary: What an amazing place!!! It was true that it was even better than you could imagine. The staff, Marisa, the food, the gorgeous beach and the property were perfect. It was so great to have the ocean at your doorstep for surfing but then the 10m pool to cool off in. My husband, 2 kids (14 and 16) and I enjoyed the relaxing location but with the help of Marisa and Angel, managed to go to San Salvador and to the Ruta de las Flores as well. Would recommend this villa very highly.
