4 Bedroom Villa in Castillo de Sabinillas, DUQUESA

This delightful Andalucian style villa is surrounded by mature gardens containing palm, orange and lemon trees. Relax in or by the recently refurbished heated swimming pool with easy and safe access for the young and not so young (!) via the Roman steps into the shallow end. If you require the pool to be heated please advise us as there will be an additional charge. The villa is situated in a quiet location but only 15 minutes walk from the unspoiled old coastal village of Castillo de la Duquesa with its traditional Spanish restaurants, bars and beach bars (known as 'Chiringuitos'). A further 5 minutes walk along the promenade or the beach will take you into the lively marina of Duquesa with an excellent variety of restaurants, bars shops and ice cream parlour for the children! The villa is spacious and furnished and decorated to a very high standard providing a sense of comfortable opulence. The accommodation is ideal for families, large groups, from the young to the old, golfers and for people with mobility problems who would be comfortable in the ground floor bedroom and bathroom. On the first floor is the Master En-suite bedroom with a super king sized bed that can be converted into 2 single beds. The en-suite bathroom is spacious and marbled throughout. French windows open out onto a large balcony with a sea view, ideal for a slow lazy breakfast or an aperitif before dinner. A twin bedroom also has French windows opening out onto the balcony. There is a further twin bedroom and marbled family bathroom to complete the first floor. A further 2 folding beds are available on request as are cots and high chairs. On the ground floor is a twin bedroom with its own bathroom ideal for guests with mobility issues. The kitchen is well equipped with a cooker/hob/oven; fridge freezer; dishwasher; microwave; washing machine; and blender. There is a large lounge with a dining area and a traditional Spanish fireplace. You will also find in here Satellite TV, Blue-Ray DVD player, WiFi and a selection of DVD's, games and books. There is full air conditioning and heating on both floors. Leading off the lounge is a large conservatory. This maybe converted into an open terrace by pulling back the glass curtains. Relax out here on the Ratten sofas with a cool beer. There are further comfortable outside recliners and sunbeds to use in the lovely gardens or by the pool. The garden is walled and has electric gates to enable secure parking for your cars under a shaded carport.

Summary: This was our second stay at this villa and it was just as good as we remembered. Perfect location, lovely bedrooms, large lounge, great outdoor spaces and a good sized private pool. A+

Summary: This house is in a golf resort development. It is in a gated community and is very secure. The layout of the house is nice, even in winter when the house is closed up - in warmer weather you could open up the whole thing to the back yard and have an even better experience. Bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice and spacious. The only possible drawback, not for us but maybe for someone, is the kitchen is quite small. Not a problem for us as we did not prepare meals there, but if you were planning on cooking meals for a large-ish family, it would be a bit of a challenge. But why cook when you have all those wonderful restaurant choices nearby? The grounds were nice, well kept and private. We did not indulge in the pool (too cold) but it would be great in the summer months - more likely a life saver. All in all, I would recommend this house to someone exploring this part of the Costa Del Sol.

Summary: Fabulous property, really sizeable and great value-for-money. Perfect location in terms of marina/restaurants/beach and 2 supermarkets all around 1 mile away. We had two children with us aged 1.5 and 7 and found a load of swimming aids/floats/toy trucks etc in the garden shed on day 2. Brilliant! The host Julie was fab and came back to us immediately with every query we had. The only very minor thing, not an issue, is that it is quite high up a big hill so not great for walking, especially in the heat, but the local taxi service was also spot-on whenever required. The BBQ by the pool was classic, stone-built and took some real hammer!! A fantastic week in a lovely villa, and a great host. Thanks Julie!

Summary: 3 generations having a family holiday together, had an amazing time. So glad we paid to have the pool heated, it was a real hit for all. The villa was spot on. The marina was a lovely place to go for a meal and a drink, just a 20 minute walk.

Summary: We’ve just returned from a lovely week in this villa. Communication with Julie before we left was first class and the check in process very easy. We had a great week, the children loved the pool, the Villa was clean and spacious and the location ideal. The kitchen is small but enough room for preparing simple pasta, cooking pizza etc and lots of fridge and freezer space for cold drinks, ice creams etc. We visited Ronda, Gibraltar, had a walk to the local Roman baths and had days on the beach bathing and snorkelling. A trip to tarifa for whale watching was a highlight. The weather was perfect so we had lots of time in the pool and lovely garden too. The only negative was nothing that could be helped by the Villa owners, but there was a lot of barking through the night from the neighbourhood dogs so some disturbed nights, so would definitely recommend earplugs. Nothing that ruined our holiday though and we’re sad not to still be there.
