In the front yard sits hole number one of Butternut Hills Golf Course. Butternut Hills is a public course and features fabulous rolling fairways and challenging greens. Butternut Hills also has a bar and restaurant that is open year-round just a short walk from the front door of this home.
About the only way to describe this home we call "Golf Road Lake House" is "Spectacular". Did we mention that there is plenty of room for the whole family? This palace features 9407 ft. of high-end living space including multiple living rooms, 9 bedrooms with 9.5 bathrooms, multiple kitchens and all of it is professionally decorated.
The home was completely remodeled in 2008 and is perfectly positioned on a large sloping lot to capture amazing panoramic views from almost all the rooms in the home. Enjoy the warm summer breezes on a wrap-around deck offering great privacy and stunning undeveloped lake views as well as comfortable patio furniture.
If cooking is your thing, this is the house for you. The well-equipped chef's kitchen features high end appliances, tons of counter top space, and it even has refrigerated drawers in the island and an additional wine fridge. Season your steaks and head on out to the gas grill on the deck where you can watch eagles soar over the lake as your steaks sizzle and your kids play in the large lawn below.
This home is well suited for multiple family groups with plenty of room to spread out. It even has a additional separate but connected bunkhouse and additional kitchen above the garage that is tastefully decorated in North Woods decor. You may use the Bunkhouse in the winter for sleeping but the water runs through the garage and needs to be drained to avoid freezing.

Take an easy stroll down to the water's edge where a large beach area with a sandy lake bottom awaits. The home also features a private dock where guests can bring their boat and leave it at the dock for their entire stay or we can recommend places to rent a pontoon to explore the lake during your stay. A golf cart in the garage is available for guests to transport coolers and gear to and from the dock area.
Long Lake is a large lake - in fact is it over 19 miles long from one end to the other with depths of up to 70 feet and much of the shoreline is undeveloped. Long Lake is known regionally as the Walleye Capital of Wisconsin. It offers boaters 6 boat-up bar restaurants and 99 miles of shoreline to explore. Long Lake also has some great sandbars where on a summer day you will find boaters hanging in knee deep water and enjoying the sunshine and swimming. There are also several marinas on the lake that sell gas and bait. The Birchwood area is also known for its great ATV/Snowmobiling trails. From this area you can explore hundreds of miles of connecting trails.
What do you do on a rainy day? While you could hold up in the downstairs bar and play pool or venture out and explore the area. Within a 30-minute drive or less you can visit the communities of Rice Lake, Birchwood, Spooner, Hayward, and Shell Lake. Each of these communities has interesting and unique shopping opportunities as well as supermarkets, churches, theaters, roller rinks and bowling.
