THE LAND
When you stay at Sky Hawk Ridge, you won't stay inside for long. Roam the land and discover the wonders of the beautiful landscape. Enjoy misty morning walks through dew-covered fields. Watch radiant sunsets over Ozark Mountains. When you walk along Sky Hawk's long ridge, you see up the Buffalo River Valley to layered green hillsides and distant blue ridge lines. You see rolling meadows with sentinel oaks, cattle grazing in lush pastures, deep green woods, nature's beauty at every turn.
Explore miles of private trails that wind through dense forests and beside crystal streams. Wildlife is everywhere -- deer, turkey, fox, owls, songbirds, and all sorts of woodland creatures. Be dazzled by spring flowers, blue summer skies, rich fall colors, or foggy winter mornings. Sky Hawk Ridge is a nature-lover's paradise all year long.
LOCATION
Sky Hawk is just off US 65 on the north side of the Buffalo River. Restaurants, canoe rentals and river access points at Grinders Ferry, Gilbert and Tyler Bend are less than ten minutes away, but at Sky Hawk you’re secluded and surrounded by natural beauty, away from it all.
The entrance is on the Gilbert Road (Hwy. 333), just 0.4 mile east of US 65. The cabin is at the end of a long drive, about 3/4 mile from the entry. Sited at the end of a prominent ridge, surrounded by meadow and framed by a trio of stately, old oaks, the house affords sweeping views up the river valley.
The property has 3/4 mile of park frontage, and the Buffalo River Trail is just steps from the property corner. The park trail leads about a mile down to a long, wide gravel bar at Shine Eye Bluff -- the perfect spot to picnic, swim, fish or enjoy a lazy afternoon. (Shine Eye is also accessible by road, a five minute drive.)
ACCOMMODATIONS
Completed in September, 2023, this comfortable home has plenty of room for your family or two couples. Stunning architecture and tasteful furnishings make the house memorable in its own right. High dormer windows in the two-story living area and large windows in every room let you see forest and sky all around. The interior is sunny and uplifting, warm and inviting. Flanking the great room are two spacious bedroom suites. Separate bathrooms have large, walk-in showers.

Summary: All around great experience. My wife, two young children and our dog spent a weekend at Sky Hawk. Property is beautiful and expansive. There are a handful of well-marked trails all over the property with variations of views and elevations. The house was new and spotless, with a kitchen stocked with quality cookware so we could cook all of our meals. We didn’t realize all the local restaurants close during the winter but luckily we brought plenty of food to cook. House has 2 large bedrooms with comfortable beds. The river access is a couple miles away (all those details are in the welcome book). We will try to come back during spring or summer to take advantage of that.All around great place to relax, hike, and spend time with family. It’s heaven for dogs, too. .

Summary: We visited the Sky Hawk cabin with a family of four the weekend after Christmas. It was just as described - very clean and well equipped. There are other cabins on the property but plenty of distance between. We hiked through the trails on the property as well as down to the Buffalo river. This would be an even better spot during the floating season - super convenient to several outfitters.

Summary: Everything about this place was great! The house was extremely clean and well stocked. The property offers gorgeous views overlooking the valley and Ozarks; perfect for morning coffee and evening wine watching the sunset. Numerous hiking trails are right there on the vast property for exploring.

Summary: One of our favorite stays! This modern cabin/farmhouse was beautifully decorated and supplied everything we needed for our time there. Beds were comfortable and kitchen well-stocked. The property was full of views and a great spot for birdwatching and stargazing. We enjoyed hiking on property and right next to the Buffalo River and other hiking trails. We highly recommend and hope to come back

Summary: We had an absolutely amazing week-long stay and could not have asked for anything different. The house is very new and everything you might need is included down to a basket with dog treats, bowls, blankets, and towels. The large acreage property has miles of marked hiking trails. While there is no map, all trails loop back on themselves, so you can't get lost or accidentally veer off the property. We spent every morning hiking a few miles with our dogs feeling very private. There are multiple houses on the property, but they are all spaced far from each other, so you won't see the others. There are not a lot of restaurants or shops nearby, but we purchased food and made all our meals. The views are spectacular. The hosts were very easy to talk to and answered all our questions and more.

Summary: What a wonderful place this is. Highly recommend this property for a couple or a large family. They have multiple listings on this property a large family could utilize for big gatherings. It’s secluded and spaced out well. Trails are a great touch. The river is minutes away to kayak/canoe/fish. The amenities within the house were top notch - from the grill to cooking hardware to dish-ware. All and all top notch experience! Lori and her team were VERY responsive. Definitely will be back.
