Positive: Everything! The house of Saro and his family is truly one of the best experience of our trip. He is very friendly, available and fixed everything for us (guided tour by himself to the batcaves and killing caves, food, tuktuk to Battambang). We felt very welcome in his family and the tent was super comfortable. Would recommend it to everyone who wants a true human experience.

Positive: The staff were very helpful (Saro speaks fluent English) and helped organise trips to several places and picked us up after going to Battambang by boat and they organised transport to drop us off at the Train station to travel to Phnom Penh. The bat cave was amazing. Thankyou Saro and his family!

Positive: If you want to experience real Cambodian life, you should definitely stay at Family Batcave Homestay. The accommodation is simple but clean and comfortable. And Saro and his family are the best possible hosts. They brought us with their motorbike to the mountain nearby where you can see the Killing cave, the temple and around ,6 PM the millions of bats flying out. Amazing! Back to the Homestay is only a 5 minute walk. Saro also arranged a tour of all the sights around Battambang and he made reservations for the boat from Battambang to Siem Riep. All perfectly organized and with a smile😀 His wife is an excellent cook and we enjoyed very tasteful local dishes for breakfast and dinner at cheap prices. The beer is always cold and the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming. They even did our laundry for a bargain price. Best experience in Cambodia!

Positive: The stay was such a genuine experience. The family was incredibly warm and welcoming, they took us took us to see the bat caves at sunset and the killing caves making sure we felt at home the whole time. We ate delicious home-cooked food, and hung out in hammocks. The place itself is simple but beautiful, right in the middle of the countryside. You wake up to birds and the view of the fields so peaceful. It really felt like staying with family, not just at a guesthouse.
Negative: Genuinely no negatives.
Summary: One of the most genuine and heartwarming stays I’ve ever had, felt like home in the Cambodian countryside.

Positive: Everything was amazing - authenticity, warmth, kindness,comfort of the very welcoming local family made our stay very special and exactly what we expected. Esaro and his family also helped us to organise day trip, visits, knowledge of history and culture was shared also. We also were kindly offered to borrow bikes so explore surroundings - another plus making the stay very nice. Diner are pretty special sharing traditional dish surrounded by family, friends and lots of kindness. Our children also enjoyed playing with their children.

Positive: Delicious, vegetarian friendly breakfasts, made with love by Ratha. You can also book lunch / dinner at an additional cost. Phnom Sampov Temple & Pagodo is within walking distance from their home, with beautiful walks in the mountains & caves. You can also grab a bicycle and go for rides in the ricepaddies across the road. I loved sitting outside at night with the family for sunset staring at the mountain, Phnom Sampov temple & pagodo whilst watching the bats fly by. Sharing dinner with the family and their friends was very special too. Highlights would definitely be my adventures with Esaro. I highly recommend booking a tour(s) with him.

Positive: This place is great! We were there in the rainy season so it was hot but at night and cooled down, and we slept very comfortably. The food was absolutely delicious. The family was very friendly. Everything was very clean with comfy beds. We stayed in the bungalow and it was super spacious with a really nice veranda to relax in outside with a hammock. Only a 10 minute walk to the bat cave and from there you can get a motorbike to take you to the top of the mountain to the killing caves (or you can walk up). Great place to stay. Would 100% recommend and wish we could have stayed longer.

Positive: I had a lovely stay with Esaro and his family! A truly experience to share with local people and support local businesses. They are just lovely. The place is beautiful, surrounded by nature and life. Very close to the Temples and the Caves. The food Roca (I’m sorry if I’m writing it in the wrong way) cooked was delicious. The house is comfortable, fresh and full of space. To be able to share the moments with his Mom, Dad, Uncle, Brother was super cool! Thanks for your generosity! I had a great time with you and your family!

Positive: Great location, very close to most of Battambang’s attractions. Lovely hosts, cute dogs and frogs roaming around the property. Good breakfast.
Negative: I felt it was implemented that the bungalow had a private bathroom… there wasn’t. Also no hot water in the shower.
