Summary: Very professional and nice landlord, easy check-in, they are there if you need them but you really have your own place if you want. Much to Do and play with at ”home” for the whole family. Perfect with fenced garden for us with two dogs. A lot to see and visit in the sourroundings. U HAVE TO go to the patiserie in Lithaire the best we ever tried. And don’t forget to visit the Calvados maker Guillotte Pierre, thou we don’t speak french it was a lot of fun and really good products!!

Summary: This gite is an amazing place to spend a perfect holiday time. The garden is so beautiful with everything you need. More than perfect for children of all ages, a dream for dogs and we could relax there really well. The gite is furnished with lots of love. We already decided to come back next year. The landladies were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Summary: Just returned from a lovely week in Normandy. The Gite was wonderful and ideally placed for exploring Normandy. Lovely quite rural location but only minutes away from a town for all your shopping with a great market on a wednesday. the local village boulangerie for your fresh breakfast Croissants was even closer. Great holiday couldn't fail to recommend to anyone.

Summary: Well, what a find! We had a wonderful two week family holiday for our first time abroad. Fabulous, well equipped, private gite and superb garden / pool for the kids and adults alike. Summary: A quiet week at the end of September for three (already exhausted) cyclists is not the acid test for a gite, but Viefacile met our requirements very well. Flatish countryside, plenty of roads and paths to pedal over, and enough interesting sites to see within a reasonable distance. The village of La Haye du Puits a few kms away is charming, with a comprehensive and very discreet in-town superstore and a large weekly market. Better bread and croissant are even closer in Lithaire, barely a minute's drive from the gite. Finding Viefacile is not absolutely straightforward, so do your Google Maps homework before you venture off...which we singularly failed to do. Once found (and it's really not that hard) it's a lovely quiet corner, with two charming hosts living next door...chatty and helpful when you like, invisible when you don't. Three bedrooms supported by two complete bathrooms is good for the outdoor types, though there are also two televisions and a broad range of TV channels (including some Sky services) and a DVD player for pommes de terre people. Hot water is very hot and absolutely abundant. Kitchen facilities are also comprehensive and the laundry department is good. The distribution of single and double beds allows for a variety of single/couple/children groups, and there are games room and swimming pool facilities. Of the big tourist sites Omaha Beach, Arromanches and the Bayeux Tapestry can be done in a day, and Mont St Michel is a day-out of itself...through lovely countryside that is less well known than the Bessin but perhaps all the better for it. Viefacile is a good corner to know for the real Normandie enthusiast, and perhaps an excellent base for the American visitor focussing on the WWII sites associated with the initial Airborne operations, St Lo and the Cobra breakout. At the village of Balleroy, 90 mins drive away, is a stunning chateau still owned and regularly used by the American Forbes family, so tours are a little limited and strictly guided (with no photos inside) but the rooms on display, the features and the paintings exhibited are excellent and shown by guides fully conversant with their subject and comprehensive in their languages. We three paid 7 Euros each, timed it right, and were given a superb private tour (in English) by the lovely Clemence...the highlight of our holiday. Viefacile is a very good base for seeing Normandie...

Summary: Arrived on 2 large motorcycles an hour after leaving Cherbourg. Joanne had pre informed us with all the information we needed, accessed our gite with ease then after offloading the baggage shot off for local produce and drinks. Stayed 2 nights, woke to the sound of cuckoo's each morning, and explored the D-Day beaches before heading on to Carnac. Lovely stay, peaceful, secluded, private and non invasive, with a traditional French feel. Would def stop by again, only a hard standing area for the bike's would have improved things.
