Negative: The seating area was rather small. Felt like a hotel room, and hadn't appreciated that from photos. A bit constraining for 10 days

Positive: Accommodation is in good location for our purposes. Well presented, private with good facilities. Nice little welcome pack which is a nice touch. We have stayed before and hosts are helpful and friendly. Accommodation is of a high standard.
Negative: Only real negative is parking is on street but lane is quiet and wide enough to not be a problem.

Positive: Farriers Retreat was ideal for us and our Border Terrier. He slept in his crate in the separate kitchen. The property was superbly kitted out with everything we needed, a lot of planning and attention to detail has been put into it - even dog treats left for dogs! It was very comfortable and quiet. The owners were available next door but were not at all intrusive, it was very relaxed and easy. Comfy bed, nice shower room. Lovely kitchen.
Negative: No downsides at all, the parking is on the street but easy and free of charge. Make sure you look at the map before booking, it is not in the main part of Budleigh Salterton which was fine for us, nice and quiet and lowkey.
Summary: Ideal for a minibreak with your dog, comfy, cosy and superbly kitted out

Positive: location and nearby dog walks plus the property was very dog friendly, with loads of useful information on where to walk and places to visit
Negative: The skylights were very loud with the rain on them and it wasn't possible to open windows in the property (there aren't any, just a patio door ) so it was very hot overnight.
Summary: Great location and very clean comfortable property just a little loud if it rains.

Positive: Farriers Retreat was extremely clean, very cosy and bright, and the owner always available to give tips or be there if needed. Large back garden to chill and play with your dog, this is the accommodation to always go back to when in the area. Perfect location for exploring both Devon and Dorset.
