3 Bedroom Cottage in Edgartown

Location!!! Our home is centrally located in the perfect spot! 3 min drive to town, 5 min to both State and South Beaches, and yet it rests in a quiet and secluded neighborhood in the Ocean Heights section of Edgartown. We are surrounded by two wildlife preservation areas (Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary and Caroline Tuthill Preserve) and Sengekontacket Pond. Our location is great for all water activities, hiking, and biking into town. This cozy three bedroom home comfortably sleeps 6. There are 2 queen size beds and 2 twin beds. There is also a pull out sofa in the living room. The spacious deck off the back of house offers a quiet place to relax after a day at the beach and an outdoor shower. Our backyard is spacious and fenced in, so great for kids! Charcoal grill, lobster pot and all the kitchen essentials. We are just a short walk to the water - clam rakes, kayak, surf board, skim board and paddle board (paddles and life preservers) are available for vacation fun! We are pet friendly as well!

Summary: Nice little house with everything you need for vacation, very casual and relaxed feel. Fenced in back yard for dogs was the best and the outdoor shower was so good! Would recommend to anyone, especially those who like to vacation with their fur babies. Donna the host communicated very well and answered all our questions. Thanks !

Summary: We had a nice stay at this house, but we felt the price didn't match the amenities/condition of the home. We've rented many homes on MV over the last 10 years at all different price points. This is one of the highest price points we've stayed at with the least amount of amenities. First, we feel the house could use some TLC. Two of the dressers were unusable with broken drawers and pulls which meant we had to live out of suitcases for 2 weeks. The dishwasher - which cleans great - has a broken door so loading/unloading was very difficult. Many of the kitchen drawers were also broken/loose pulls. There are a great deal of utensils, but so many of them are broken. We did have a couple of cleanliness issues with stains/rips/dog hair. We were also there in a heat wave (which the air conditioners did a great job handling), but when the house was closed up/hot, the rug in the living room has a strong dog smell. The house is advertised as pet-friendly, so probably expected, but this stuck out to us. Most houses we stay at have some board games, yard games, general nice-to-haves, but this house did not have any of those. The welcome email said there was a beach umbrella, but it was full of rips. There were only matches to start the charcoal grill and firepit, so we went and bought a click flame lighter (which we left for the next guests). We also purchased some citronella candles as using the deck is one of the best parts of the house, but it is buggy. These small touches make a big difference and we found them to be a little lacking. This house does have paddleboards/kayak, which are huge amenities. The kayak is very nice and at the pond making it easy to use (it is a single, so keep this in mind if you travel with kids). It is a short walk to the water as advertised, but please note that carrying the paddleboards to the water is no easy feat (and they have to be left at the house). One of them is impossible to carry by a single person (no grip handle) and the other has a grip but is even heavier. We brought our own inflatable paddleboard and even that was tough to carry there. The proximity to the pond was still the best part of the house for us - and we went out on the pond almost every day - but I do think it's important to note that carrying the gear there is very hard. The location was great for bike rides to all of our favorite Edgartown locations. Overall, we had a good visit, but feel the price could better match the actual experience.

Summary: Our family of four adults and small dog traveled to the Kenney house for the first week in August 2022. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was ideal for our needs. Fenced in yard was a plus. The owner was very helpful and always at hand for advice. Perfect accommodation. AC units were clutch - it was hot! Perfect host. Perfect holiday!

Summary: Great relaxing week. The home is located just a few minutes walk from the one of the best sunrise viewing spots in MV near Sengekontacket pond! Complete with a kayak and paddle boards, it’s nestled in a quiet neighborhood that had everything we needed for 4 adults and our two dogs: fenced in yard, large outdoor deck, short drive/bike to Edgartown, close to bike path, and the air conditioning units were a wonderful bonus. Donna was a very responsive host and provided lots of local information. We will be back!

Summary: Donna’s house was the perfect size for us and had a big fenced yard for our dog. We were close to Stop and Shop, Edgartown proper, and South Beach, plus close enough to Lamber’s Cove for Mason to get in his canine social hour. To top it all off, Donna was a responsive and helpful host without being obtrusive. We would definitely stay again!
