The Fin and Fig Farmhouse is the original White Oak Mountain homestead dating back to 1890. Sitting on over 5 private acres, this luxuriously upgraded property will have you in awe with the 100 mile views! This mountaintop retreat is located just 10 minutes from Columbus, 30 minutes from Asheville, and under 2 hours from Charlotte.
The great room exudes vaulted ceilings with a wood burning cookstove. The fully updated kitchen boasts high-end stainless-steel appliances including a gas cooktop, built in wall oven and a spacious island, perfect for whipping up your favorite meals.
The first floor MBR features a king sized bed, fully appointed bathroom, a sitting area with original 1800's fireplace, and accordion glass doors opening onto the screened in porch which allow you to enjoy the fresh mountain air as you sleep! The porch has a brand new hot tub with views of the valley below, and a twin sized swinging bed to relax and appreciate the sunrise.
This adorable farmhouse has 4 guest rooms and a separate log cabin with a kitchenette for a total of 5 sleeping spaces. There are several other sleeping options with pull out sofas, etc. The upper deck is the spot for stargazing, listening to the waterfall, and looking down onto the twinkling lights of the countryside below. Plenty of options for hiking and biking nearby, or fly fishing and tubing on the Green River.

Summary: Our stay at this property with friends and kids was unfortunately subpar. From the moment we arrived, we encountered issues that made the experience far from relaxing.First, none of the extra bedding was clean—we had to wash it all upon arrival. There were only 9 bath towels for our group of 11, and the additional towels provided after I reached out smelled like smoke, requiring another wash. The guest house was infested with ladybugs, which was unpleasant, and the ladder to the loft was broken and unsafe to use. Out of the four TVs advertised, only two worked.For a five-night stay with a large group, the supplies provided were laughably inadequate: just two rolls of paper towels, six rolls of toilet paper, and only a handful of washcloths. When I contacted the host, they offered no real solutions other than dropping off those smoky towels.Additionally, the listing failed to mention the treacherous road leading to the property. A 4WD vehicle is absolutely necessary, and this should have been clearly stated to avoid potential hazards with inclement weather, which we encountered. Overall, I felt the listing was misleading, and the lack of care or effort to remedy our concerns was disappointing. We will not be returning.

Summary: This is our second stay at this lovely property we love it! It feels like home. The inside of the house was spotless and so clean, but we found some chips on the porch and some droppings in the guest cabin. I had a maintenance question while I was there and the staff was amazing!!!! Thank you all!!!

Summary: What a gorgeous and unique property - we really enjoyed our stay there. While the drive up the mountain is a crazy one, you are rewarded with spectacular views! The home was clean and well appointed - I was blown away by all of the kitchen amenities, and the home was conveniently located to TIEC and shopping staples. I can’t wait to return to the area to horse show again, and when I do I will, without hesitation, rebook at Fin and Fig!

Summary: The drive was stressful with all of the hairpin turns and switch backs but once you got to the house it was wonderful! Not sure if we would have tried the drive if it was raining (or snowing!) The house was exactly as described and was just beautiful. Great communication with the owner!

Summary: We all had a great time using the property. Plenty of space to move around. Only negatives were slanty hallway upstairs & we could have used an extra bathroom upstairs. Had to take turns. Otherwise, great house. The road going up was scary, especially at night with no lights or guardrails.
