Summary: We stayed in a beautiful and rustic apartment, very tastefully furnished and spacious. Despite not having a front desk, check-in was very straight forward and the owners provided good communication. The property grounds are well kept and perfect for a quiet retreat and full relaxation. The local cat happily greeted us every time we used the garden and kindly walked with us, keeping us company. The swimming pool is a nice addition, as well as the jacuzzi. The location is perfect, you're at driving distance from the busier resorts and beaches, but you can also easily drive to the opposite part of the island, it takes roughly an hour. Or just stay in the garden and rest in the hammocks.

Summary: This hotel has it all! 9 beautiful apartments, privacy, parking across the street. A rental car is quite convenient way up on the mountainside. The roads are narrow in places, like a driveway with winding switchbacks, but it is so worth the drive! The pool is gorgeous and warm, the laundry is 3 Euro for washer and dryer combined. There is a social room with lots of books and a pool table. And let's not forget Pinky, the hotel dog who is happy to see everyone. I can not say enough good things about this place. The restaurant across the street is excellent!

Summary: Had a lovely time at Finca Vista Bonita, very relaxing, peaceful, perfect place to unwind. Lovely views out to sea from the balconies. Small pool, jacuzzi and beautiful gardens with hammocks ideal for relaxing. You definitely need a car as it is away from beaches. The village of San Miguel was lovely, the people are really friendly. We recommend the restaurants in town El Tablero - excellent food, great prices and very friendly service (thank you for driving us to Finca Vista Bonita on our arrival). Enjoyed Karaoke on Sunday afternoon in the village bicycle shop/bar. Short drive to beautiful beaches, recommend drive up to Teide.

Summary: The apartment was in a quiet area with lovely views across to the sea. An excellent restaurant across the road with very friendly staff. Very well placed to visit many interesting places on the island. We greatly appreciated the pool and jacuzzi after our day out especially as these were open until 10 pm. Excellent value for money giving us a very relaxing break.

Summary: The apartment was beautiful, rustically designed and decorated. It had a nice big balcony with a terrific view down to sea, overlooking the airport and small towns and villages. Photo opportunities were endless with gorgeous sunrises every morning and dark skies at night for the stars. The facilities were marvellous with a small swimming pool and jacuzzi in a purpose-built cave under one of the apartments. The only downside is you will definitely need a car for these apartments as there is only one restaurant within walking distance.

Summary: Self catering apartment with a fabulous view from the balcony. Easy access to the lovely garden and communal facilities, Free gym, heated pool, Wifi available in the lounge, though not in the apartment with massage and aromatherapy available to purchase on site - although we didn't use the latter two. Car park provided opposite the finca - and a car is needed as it is up a steep hill from the centre of the town. 45 minutes to drive up to El Teide to the volcano which is quite an experience. There's some fabulous scenery around the island if you are prepared to drive and brave the mountain roads. Lots of walking paths - take good footwear. Temperatures range from 25 C at sea level in the south to subzero on the volcano in December. It can be raining in the north, cold but sunny on the mountain and hot in the south all at the same time. Stargazing on El Teide is amazing - never seen so many stars. Canarians seemed friendly and pleased when we tried out our Spanish on them.

Summary: Vista Bonita is in the village of San Miguel in the foothills of the volcano, Mount Teide. It is definitely a place to use a hire car for visits and shopping and has good access to the beautiful interior of the island. The accommodation is traditional and comfortable and we stayed in a one-bedroom apartment which had it's own entrance onto the road and plentiful parking space outside. There was a large bedroom, a well laid out bathroom and a large lounge, off which was a small but adequate kitchen. Sliding doors led onto a large patio with a table and chairs, drying facilities and a gate leading down into the garden. The view from the patios is extensive and the coast can be seen easily a few miles to the south. A heated swimming pool is located just off the garden and the area near it and the reception areas of the complex have free wi-fi. The manager, Beatriz, was very helpful and the cleaning, 'wellness' and maintenance staff were charming and helpful. If you don't want to be near a beach on Tenerife but want a quiet holiday, then this is a good place to try. Across the road is an excellent restaurant and the village, which is a short drive down the hill has a full range of small shops spread along some 400 metres.
