Summary: Our stay at Four Mounds was very pleasant. Our room and bathroom were extremely clean and comfortable. The provided amenities were very ample. You have to text if you need more towels, etc. The only drawback for us was that we were in one of the room, not a suite, and there was no TV in the room. I don’t believe this was mentioned at any time before booking or check-in. We may not have booked if we had known because my husband really enjoys TV in the evening. Otherwise, the property was beautiful and charming, and we enjoyed our stay. A TV in the rooms would be a nice, welcome addition.

Summary: Among B and Bs, the Four Mounds Inn beats them all hands down. As the former residences of an industrious family in Dubuque during the early 20th century, both the Main house (Grey house) and the son's Colonial-style home (White house) are living examples of ingenious architecture, style, grace and utility blended into structure and comfort that you can appreciate and enjoy. The endurance of the craftsmanship built into every room shows with every step you take on pristine 120+ year old hardwood floors. The property is part of the Dubuque park system and helps preserve the legacy with active youth education programs. The staff provides excellent hospitality services with clean rooms and amenities. The coffee and Breakfast were wonderful. The view and trails overlooking the Mississippi River are peaceful and the grounds is home to woods and woodland bird species including Wild Turkey that stroll through the grass to feed. We appreciated a historical narration from caretaker "Willow" who along with her mom Dix manage the BnB portion of the estate. We highly recommend the Four Mounds!

Summary: We loved our stay at Four Mounds. The house was fantastic, like stepping back in time. The entire house is decorated in arts and crafts style furnishings. The beds are very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. We especially enjoyed sitting outside, listening to birds, watching eagles, and looking at the river.

Summary: Everything was absolutely amazing and beautiful. The inn keeper was so communicative and made sure she gave us the history of the property while we ate our delicious breakfast. I wouldn’t have changed a thing and am beyond happy I chose Four Mounds over any mainstream hotel.

Summary: What an amazing find! Beautiful property, well maintained and wonderful breakfast. The history of Four Mounds is worth looking into if you are planning a stay there - although you will have plenty of opportunity to find out the history. What was originally built as a gentleman’s farm during the Industrial Revolution has become a well preserved ecosystem with well maintained buildings. Four Mounds was donated to Dubuque by one of the last surviving original owners and has become a foundation that is well known to Dubuque residents. Even if you don’t care about the history - it’s a beautiful and peaceful place to stay with an amazing breakfast. Despite the seclusion, you are close to everything Dubuque has to offer.

Summary: The property is quite nice! We had one issue when arriving as another couple had locked the main entrance into the house. We waited outside for about 15 minutes before the owner unlocked the door.

Summary: Lovely historic bed and breakfast. It has a contactless check in. It is very quiet and private. Wonderful breakfast featuring mushrooms foraged on the property. There's a one lane driveway, so you need to be a little cautious.
