Summary: We arrived to the Point Edward hotel on July 1 from the U.S. This happened to be Canada Day. Upon check in, the reception clerk let us know that there was music and fireworks happening in the Centennial Park nearby. The park is a good distance walk from the hotel but there was street parking closer if you wanted to drive. We did not dine at this hotel as we were only there for one night, but the had a Boston Pizza Restaurant that had dining in the evening and breakfast in the morning. Meals were not included in our stay. The hotel pool was spacious and clean and had plenty of towels and chairs. The fitness center had a couple cardio machines, some more common machines you'd find in gyms. There were 4 pieces (leg press, leg extension, a chest press, and one I can't remember). There was also a dumbbell rack, adjustable benches, mats, a water dispenser, and cleaning materials. We are a family of 5 so we need an extra bed in our stays and they were able to accommodate us with a room with a sofa bed. Staff offered to make up the bed for us if we wished. I thought this was a nice touch. The only complaint and the reason I deducted a star was our room was right next to an equipment room that made a whooshing sound (kinda sounded like pigeons) for about 2 seconds and it happened about every 30 seconds to a minute. It was continuous for the duration of our stay. My kids kept asking what it was every hour. Thank goodness we had brought ear plugs to help with sleeping.

Summary: We didn’t plan to spend two weeks at a hotel in our home town. But renovating our ham has been full of surprises. The staff have been incredibly kind and accommodating.

Summary: Apparently, this hotel has been fully renovated, however, they were indicators that corners were cut. Doors, for example, either were not replaced or are already showing damage. I had a room down the hallway from the front lobby. The lobby, music, modern pop, resonates all the way down the hallway, partly because of the volume (somewhat high) and probably speaker replacement in the lobby. The room backs out onto a beautiful back lawn with large patio that, come the summer months, will apparently be one of their selling points. The sliding door to this area is, however, permanently locked with no other windows available for opening. Very odd, very stuffy, And speaks to the lack of design savvy in the context of what travellers want. Overall, a three out of five, and not a high three at that. More like a 2 1/2.

Summary: The cost was very competetive and didn't represent the high valued accommodation we received. Boston Pizza in the motel was great. The new pool is the best in Sarnia. Rooms were new, modern and really comfortable beds.a real steal.
