One of only two restored Frank Lloyd Wright-designed American System-Built Homes in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is open for public.
All Mission Style furniture, Stickley Sofa and Chairs, and many built-in Frank Lloyd Wright designed furniture.
4 Bedrooms (One King, Two queens and one full size beds), 2.5 huge bathrooms, a daybed with trundle in the sleeping porch(two Twins), Maximum of 10 people (if add a full bed in the office).
A two night minimum stay is required.
Frank Lloyd Wright signed the actual building permit in 1916. A true Prairie Style original. Light-filled rooms create a warm, organic living space. Maple floors throughout, 80 leaded glass windows, built in bookcases and armories, tray ceilings, natural fireplaces. Spacious, vintage Danish-designed Poggenpohl kitchen. Amazing stained glass skylight floods staircase with light. Generous master suite with en-suite bath, natural fireplace, and many built-ins. Private, mature landscaped yard with deck.
No pets, no smoking.

Summary: Communication with the property manager was excellent. Fabulous opportunity to experience a FLW home. The property could be challenging for seniors because there are no handrails associated with the steps in and outside the house.

Summary: My two friends and I were on a Frank Lloyd Wright tour and were delighted to be able to stay in this house in the Burnham Block (six houses he designed) in Milwaukee. The house is spacious and the beds are comfortable. The two and a half bathrooms gave us privacy and were convenient. In the kitchen we found everything we needed for preparing meals. It is charming and a delight to stay in.

Summary: Our group was visiting from out of state with the intention of going to a Brewers game. As FLW enthusiasts, we were eager to stay at this property. Our group enjoyed the house tremendously. There was plenty of space to relax, as well as plenty to marvel over. We understood the lack of parking and that parking would be unique, but Joan made the process incredibly easy. Our only wish was that we had more time in the home! Thanks for a great visit!

Summary: We enjoyed our stay in this early FLW house. Clean and well kept. The owners were easy to communicate with. There is not much around the house of interest but it's convenient to downtown Milwaukee. Really nice to stay in a FLW house.

Summary: This place has so much history and was amazing to see up close. The hosts were great to deal with and very responsive. Parking is plentiful and easy, just make sure to follow the odd/even schedule. The street can be noisy at times, and the front bedroom can pick up the noise, but it was not anything that kept me awake. We stayed with a group of friends, and everyone was comfortable. If you're attending an event at American Family Field, this is a great place to stay and catch a taxi, especially if you have a larger group.

Summary: Home is in good condition. Very special due to its design. Could use some additional cleaning to remove dust and webs around doors and windows The hardware for the deck doors need repaired. Shelves or small tables in upstairs bathrooms would help. Easy to get where we wanted.
