Positive: The apartment is in a great location, the kitchen is well-equipped, and the whole place feels very homey.
Negative: The stairs are really steep, which makes it inconvenient if you have large or heavy items. Older guests should be careful when going up and down.

Positive: The appartment is in the very city center so you can walk everywhere, great location. There is good space in the appartment and everything you need. The host is friendly and can be reached any time. There is air conditioning (really needed it this time)! Comfortable beds. The appartment is on a very busy street with lots of restaurants and bars, mostly it is not a problem but sometimes there could be loud music later in the night.
Negative: The only thing that you should keep in mind is the stairs. They are very very steep and the appartment is on the second floor so I would not recommend the accommodation for older people, people with walking problems or people with very small children. Otherwise it is not a problem and a little bit of fun challenge :-)

Positive: Beautifully appointed apartment with state-of-the-art kitchen, nicely decorated living room and dining room. Two good-sized bedrooms and an outdoor patio. Secured public (paid) parking is only a 5-min walk away and is moderately priced, which is very convenient if you come by car. The host was very helpful and easy to communicate with!
Negative: There is a steep and narrow staircase going from the living area up to the bedrooms which could be difficult if you have heavy or bulky luggage to carry upstairs. One of the two showers didn't work but I guess it was just at the time of our stay and we managed with one eventually.
Summary: Beautifully appointed loft apartment in a great location.

Positive: Very spacious and clean house right in the city center of Groningen, within walking distance from the train station. Big comfortable beds, quality bed linen, and modern appliances. The house had a great relaxing area with a large couch and a pleasant dining area that felt almost like a separate room, providing lots of space for all of us to wind down after a busy day walking around the city. A big, spacious walk-in shower and two separate toilets (one on each floor) were very useful for our family. During the night, the back (double bed) bedroom was very quiet, providing excellent quality sleep. The front bedroom with the single beds was somewhat noisy from the bars, but the kids didn't mind, so everyone was happy. The top floor of the house was getting hot during the day, but within minutes of opening the windows, the temperature was very pleasant, especially during the night. The host was always very prompt in answering all our queries. All in all, we had a pleasant, relaxing stay.
Negative: I would have given it a 10 normally because it was a very spacious, clean, and pleasant house, but small things lowered this total score. Lack of attention to detail would sum it up - for example, reading lamps were missing (during daytime the house was nicely lit by large windows and roof windows, but during the night the light was so dim that you couldn't possibly read a book). The light switches were so sophisticated, that it took us a while to make sense of them; sometimes one of us would switch on the light in the corridor, and one of the bedroom's lights would be also switched on, which was frustrating if you were asleep. Free toiletries were provided (no shampoo), but we had to distribute handwashing liquid ourselves from one bottle to another as two of the three provided were almost finished when we arrived. Winter duvets were laid on some of the beds - indeed, summer ones were available in the cupboards, but one would expect for those to be fitted in August instead of the winter ones. The functioning coffee machine was not the big Miele in the pictures, but a little one that had limited options for capsules and poor output. Lots of pans and pots were provided, with cutlery and plates and all (which was great), but no utensils, making it difficult to cook anything or hold anything hot. The back of the house was noisy from the restaurant fan next door. Luckily they closed early and did not bother us during the early morning/ late evening/ night when we were in the house. With the back windows closed, you couldn't hear it, so that was also an option during the day.
