2 Bedroom Villa in Roaring Gap

A stay in the Blue Ridge Mountains is good for the soul in this quaint French style villa that backs to Stone Mountain Park. “Chateau Sur le Sommet” is in the Summit section of High Meadows Golf Course/Country Club in Roaring Gap, NC.
Relax on the back patio and take in the views, listen to the nearby waterfall, or walk down to view, stroll in the mountains, hike, kayak, fish or golf nearby.
You are renting the Carriage House; no one will be in the main house during your stay.
We are alternating ALL bedding between guests so your bedding may be different than photographed, but very clean! All door handles, light switches, etc. are also sanitized between guests.

3 miles to Old Beau Golf Resort
4.5 miles to Roaring Gap Club
7.5 miles to Stone Mountain Park entrance (although you can hike out the back of our property)
An hour and a half to Blowing Rock
An hour and a half to Greensboro
An hour and a half to Abingdon, VA
One hour to Winston-Salem.
30 minutes to Elkin, NC
15 minutes to Sparta, NC
10 minutes to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Property offers two bedrooms, both with queen beds, one and a half baths, AC and heat. Towels and bedding included. Keurig, coffee, microwave, two refrigerators (one dorm size and one medium size in kitchenette, toaster, grill (with one burner) and washer/dryer. There is not an inside oven or stove top, however there is a griddle/grill/panini press and air fryer/toaster oven inside in the kitchenette area.

You are renting the Carriage House portion of this home with access to laundry/additional half bath and entire back patio area with full dining table and lounging furniture to enjoy the view.
**Garage access is not included
**Like most mountain homes, there are steps outside the property in front if you park by garage (see photos) and on garage side of home to access the back.
**Laundry, kitchenette, half bath and grill are accessible by separate entrance in back by patio. You must walk around the house to access this and back patio. Going around one side of the house there are no steps, walking around the other side of the house there are wood and stone steps to get to back patio area and 1/2 bath, laundry/kitchenette.

Summary: We stayed 3 nights in this lovely Carriage House! 2 comfortable bedrooms and a full bath offered in the carriage house. There was also Keurig, along with all kinds of coffee/hot chocolate, small fridge, cups, cream etc. also offered in the carriage house. To get to the Kitchen (no stove but a toaster oven, ref. and sink and another bathroom), and W/D, yes you did have to go around to the back of the home to access, but was no trouble at all. 2 different ways to access on each side of the home. The Terrace offered access to the Kitchen, Bathroom and W/D....BUT the Terrace Views of the Blue Ridge Mountains is why you book this VRBO....incredible!!! Lovely Terrace seating areas, dining and lounging! Perfect for morning coffee, as well as an evening glass of wine, all while enjoying the gorgeous views!!! If visiting in or near Roaring Gap.....don't miss out on this VRBO opportunity! We loved it!

Summary: It was the perfect secluded getaway. Although this property has neighbors it felt like we were in the mountains all by ourselves. The property was gorgeous and I can only imagine what it would have looked like if we visited in the prettier months (not the middle of winter)!

Summary: The yard, garden, view and large covered pergola are exceptional ! A very rare find. The guest wing (2 bedrooms and bath) were nice. To get to the outside area & kitchenette / half bath , however, it’s necessary to go down 1 flight of steps, through the garage to outside, walk to back of the home & up rock steps to both those outside & inside spaces. We are older, but fit hikers and found this constant in & out / up & down frustrating . This was particularly problematic as there are few restaurants in the area and many hadn’t opened for the season .This required more unexpected cooking in a kitchenette minus a stove.The location is amazing. Just be forewarned about the outdoor living area / kitchenette being inconvenient.

Summary: The pictures are an accurate description of the property. The view from the patio was amazing. We enjoyed coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening just relaxing. It is so peaceful. The owners were very easy to communicate with and made sure we knew how to access everything.

Summary: This property is such a gem! The rooms and bathroom are beautifully decorated and the view from the back patio is breathtaking! We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the property as well. Brenda was extremely hospitable and responsive both before and during our stay. We are already planning on when we can come back and would highly recommend for a mountain getaway!
