6 Bedroom Ski Chalet in Roaring Gap

Spacious mountain home, 300 feet from the Eastern Continental Divide, designed and built by Civil Engineer & General Contractor, previous owner. Planned from the outset for comfortable living, gracious entertaining and looking out at the world! Spellbinding views from almost all of the 11 rooms. Main view deck is 80 feet wide. Other view decks on upper and lower levels.
Main Floor - welcoming Foyer has vaulted ceiling and Powder Room. Great Room boasts corner stone fireplace, hardwood floor, high beam and deck ceiling, towering glass wall for viewing exquisite sunrises, sunsets, and mountain ranges that let your eyes roam past Grandfather Mountain into Tennessee. Fully equipped Kitchen with gas range and separate electric oven joins Dining Room with patio doors to View Deck. Master Suite One has vaulted beam and deck ceiling, King size bed, hardwood floor, view deck, bath with double vanity, two person Jacuzzi Tub, large glass block and tile shower, and laundry. At the opposite end of this 110 foot long home is Master Suite Two, a huge bedroom with panoramic glass that overlooks the valley and mountains, walk in closet, new bath including double granite top vanity, and big glass block and tile shower with large picture window and view. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS BEDROOM SUITE IS WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE DIRECTLY FROM THE GARAGE WITH NO STEPS OR RAMPS INVOLVED! The only problem is having a 24" wide door to bathroom.
Second Floor has 2 bedrooms with Queen beds, patio door to private view deck, full bath, and balcony lounge overlooking great room and mountains beyond. In the balcony lounge there is also a little 'Secret Room' for the tots - a special, built-in Playhouse adjoining the balcony. It has been highly praised by our many family guests.
Ground Floor has Master Suite Three with 2 Full/Twin Bunks looking through a 20 foot wide wall with floor to ceiling glass overlooking the valley and mountains, full bath, plus hall Twin, another bedroom with queen bed, patio door to view deck, large bath and closet. Also there is a large room with lots of glass for view, deck, wet bar, 60" TV, board games, puzzles, etc., and 5 ft. swing on view deck.
Extensive professional landscaping with mountainside timbered multi-levels and many steps, 10 year Wisteria, and Summer garden.
We have had several small weddings here approx. 25-40 people, inside, on the deck, and in the yard, all with the mountain view for pictures. We even had two young ladies receive their engagement rings on our deck.

Summary: We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for our wedding weekend! The view itself made our stay worth it but the house was also amazing and allowed for us to accomodate some of our family and closest friends. I would recommend staying here over and over again and hope we can visit again sometime!

Summary: The first word that comes to mind when thinking about our stay is WOW! Our group comes from 4 different states (GA, WV, NC, and MD) and everyone absolutely fell in love with the home and the gorgeous view. There were 11 of us and we had more than ample space and more than enough bathrooms for all us girls. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed plus some staple items that came in handy when cooking. The furniture was most comfortable and beautifully decorated, love all the antique dressers! The neighborhood was beautiful, and we loved looking at all the homes around the area. Location is close to several vineyards and Stone Mountain State Park which we took advantage of and also found a few area restaurants about 15 minutes away. Circle L Family Restaurant was a hit for all of us, great food and service. Homeowner was more than accommodating and was pretty quick to answer any concern we had which were not many. Check in was very easy and parking was plenteous. Driveway was a little steep, but we all made it work. Would highly recommend as the pictures do not lie. The view was worth the stay and so relaxing as we even got to watch a rainstorm come in and see a double rainbow from atop our mountain.

Summary: We had a great time at the house. Easily accommodated 15 of us, double oven and kitchen setup made it easy to cook for the group, and lots of space for people to spread out and spend time together. Stone Mountain park being 10 minutes away was a great bonus- strenuous but beautiful and rewarding hike. Host was fantastic, super-responsive, and made things a breeze. The whole group was happy about our decision to stay here. Only wish it had been warm enough to go play at the neighborhood golf course!

Summary: We all had such a wonderful time together as a small family reunion the common areas were big enough to be together while still feeling comfortable. We had 3 girls aged 4-7 and the absolutely love the fun little play nook in the loft. Possibly memories for a lifetime to remind them of their cousins.
