It is the perfect base to explore the Coromandel Peninsula and eastern Waikato (including Matamata and Hobbiton) by car. Half an hour from the well known Karangahake Gorge, 45 minutes to Kauaeranga Valley and the Pinnacles walk. 20-30 minutes to Paeroa or Thames’ service centers and great places to eat
