The Ganton Greyhound is a 16th Century coaching inn, located in an enviable position between Malton and Scarborough, therefore allowing guests easy access to the coastal resorts (Scarborough, Filey, Bridlington, Whitby) and inland treasures such as York, Pickering, Helmsley, Malton, Flamingo Land and the North Yorkshire Moors. Not only ideal for those wishing to explore all that North Yorkshire has to offer, we are also well suited to those walking the Wolds Way (approx 2 minutes walk away), and to golfers wishing to play on the challenging championship course of Ganton Golf Club (approx. 5 minutes walk). We have a bar on site, and guests can relax with a drink in the lounge, bar, cozy or comfortable and spacious beer garden (subject to weather conditions of course)! We also have a restaurant offering hearty home-cooked meals using local produce. Dogs are very welcome to stay at the Ganton Greyhound, in one of our allocated dog friendly rooms in the courtyard. They are also welcome in the bar and beer garden, and at breakfast and dinner we have specific dining areas for guests and their four-legged friends. All rooms have recently been redecorated and recarpeted, and have an private bathroom, tea/coffee making facilities, television and seating area. We offer free private parking on site too - all surrounded by beautiful North Yorkshire countryside!

Other Policy Please be aware that the hotels restaurant is only open for lunch on sundays and is open monday-saturday for evening meals, included in new year's eve rooms are: new years eve party till late, live music by the local band "clarity" and a hot buffet served at 21:00, please be aware the hotels bar is open from 5pm every day except sunday when it is closed all day. it closes at 10pm monday to wednesday, and at 11pm thursday to saturday. the restaurant serves meals from 5.30pm - 8.00pm (last food order) every day except sunday when it is closed. check in is from 3pm each day, with the latest check in 9pm monday-saturday and 6pm sunday.

Positive: Friendly and helpful staff, we were made very welcome both at check in and when we went for food. Good food in the pub at both breakfast and dinner. Family room was a good size, comfortable and very clean. We would definitely stay here again. Great value for money. Close to the golf course, local villages and other attractions such as Eden camp, flamingo land and Yorkshire Water Park.
Negative: This was not a fault from the accommodation, but something to note; traffic can be quite loud due to the proximity to the road, however the hotel did provide earplugs. :)
Summary: Lovely place to stay. Would go back.

Positive: A great welcome. Steve and his staff were so friendly. The rooms comfortable with everything you needed and so clean The food was excellent - freshly cooked and local. The breakfast was excellent and the fried eggs just as cooked at home, not horrible and undercooked yolks. Best I've had ever in a hotel in the UK! Pity it was so far from home, we were visiting relatives,.or we would be going again. Thank you Steve and the team for a lovely couple of days!!
Negative: It was too short a period to finish the menu!!!

Positive: Lovely room. Bathroom had a bath, which was welcome after a long day of walking. The staff were friendly. The food great. Had a great nights sleep. Only establishment to have decaf coffee sachets on the holiday!
Negative: If I were being picky, I'd like a bigger TV with more intuitive subtitles (it took me a moment or two to figure out how the subtitle button worked).

Positive: We loved everything about the Ganton Greyhound. We were walking the Yorkshire Wolds Way with two dogs and this pet friendly establishment was right on route . WE stayed in a lovely twin room , comfy beds , comfy chairs, a dog welcome pack and the shower is super powerful. We had an evening meal and breakfast, both were delicious. Both the hosts and staff made is feel very welcome. The comfy sofas in the bar were just what we needed after 25 miles . The room was adjacent to the pub area and had it's own entrance so ideal if dogs need to go out in the night or early morning. I would highly recommend the Ganton Greyhound to anyone.
