Summary: The General Denver is a charming historic hotel in the lovely town of Wilmington. There is a restaurant and bar on the first floor and our dinner there was delicious. There is some parking in the back or across the street when the church there is not meeting. Because it is a historic building, it is not fully accessible. The elevator requires an operator. There was a step to enter the bathroom in our room. On the third floor, there is a room at the far end with coffee, snacks and ice. (It would be helpful to have this information in the room.) There was a fan in our room which was useful in the afternoon when the AC was not enough to cool the room. Again, because it is a historic hotel, it doesn't have modern luxuries (like a coffee pot, fridge or microwave), but it has a lot of character and charm.

Summary: This was a very pleasant stay. Parking was a little difficult as there really isn’t a parking lot for the hotel. I parked in the church parking lot across the street. The rooms do not have individual thermostats and I feel like the AC was on all night which was very cold. Even with double blankets and the space heater going, the AC blows straight on the bed. It does take the hot water about 5 min to reach its full potential, but once it does it feels great! I really didn’t interact with staff except to go up in the elevator when I got there. When checking out at 8am it was like the hotel was still closed, very dark and no staff. Not like your normal hotel but I’d definitely stay here agian.

Summary: I absolutely loved my experience at the General Denver Hotel in Wilmington! The old-fashioned elevator was really cool. I loved how Terri was able to help me by allowing us to use the elevator anytime we needed by always being available for us. She made sure we were taken care of very well. She is a very kind person and made our stay very welcoming. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone
