The perfect getaway for the fisherman, golfer, hunter and family vacationer in Cape Breton’s lush Margaree valley. The cabin, with three bedrooms, 2.5 baths and spacious decks, is located on the famous Cabot Trail on 20 acres of wood-and-pasture land right on the Margaree River (with half a mile of riverfront and various cut walking trails throughout the property), one of the most famous Atlantic salmon rivers in the world. Walk down to the best stretch of the river, right between the Forks and Snag pools. The Baddeck and Middle, excellent salmon rivers in their own rights, are only a short drive away. Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs, the renowned new oceanside links golf courses (both are included in Golf Digest's 'World's 100 Greatest Courses'), are just 20 minutes away. For bird hunters, there’s a dog kennel and access to plentiful woodcock and ruffed grouse shooting nearby. The cabin is a perfect launching point for families or travelers looking to explore the area: Sightsee on the Cabot Trail, hike in the nearby Highlands National Park, visit the Bras d’Or Lakes, fish and hunt, or spend a day at one of the incredible nearby beaches.
The cabin has three bedrooms (master bedroom has a queen bed; bedroom number two has two twins; bedroom number three has two bunk beds. It sleeps six adults comfortably and is kid-friendly. There is a deluxe outdoor shower located off of bedrooms two and three. The kitchen, with all your cooking utensil needs, opens up into the dining area and main room. The screened-in porch, surrounded by a deck, looks out toward the river, onto the valley. A kennel for dogs is located a hundred yards from the cabin. A wood stove heats the entire main cabin easily.
Note: The "cabin" is actually three different cabins (Master bedroom, main cabin and two others bedrooms) which are attached and connected by a walkway.
The cabin is just a few miles from a grocery-and-liquor store, and comes with free Wi-Fi access.

Summary: The cabin was wonderful. Centrally located close to the fishing. Sitting next to the fireplace in the evenings to warm up after a day on the river ! Would absolutely recommend it! Hope to have the opportunity to visit again soon !

Summary: We poked around Cape Breton using this place for home base. It is surrounded by a quiet meadow with spectacular views across the valley. In the mornings we woke to the distant sounds of farm animals. The walk down to the river is delightful. We will return.

Summary: This home was a great location in the Margaree. We were able to enjoy time with friends while being central to many fishing pools. The home was well equipped with outdoor furniture and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook Thanksgiving dinner for 8 (minus a dishwasher for clean up). With four bunks and two main bedrooms, and 2.5 baths, the group of 8 were very comfortable and well taken care of. The only downside were the squirrels. They kept us up most of the night. They seemed to have found their way into the walls and ceiling/roof rafters. There was lots of evidence of their presence on the deck (eating rose hip buds) and they didn’t appear to mind humans. We would definitely return, if the squirrels were no longer living in the home with us. Loved the location and the home. The pictures on line don’t do it justice; it’s even nicer than the pics.

Summary: I don't know why you would stay anywhere else if you are coming to the area to fish or play golf. Unbelievable set up for me and three friends. 20 minute drive back down to Cabot for golf and fishing right on property. Fire pit was a great spot to relax after long days playing golf. Would be awesome spot for families to stay too. Just wish it wasn't so darn far away for me.

Summary: Very nice house with private rooms and fantastic view in the Margaree valley. We stayed comfortably for 7 nights. Our three daughters really enjoyed their time at the river not far from the house. Grand-parents came along and really enjoyed their time as well. They could sleep extra time while kids were playing board games in the living room. Not too far from the National Park and a 3 min ride from the grocery. I can’t recommend enough!

Summary: We figured from the descriptions and photos that this place would be beautiful, but it was way beyond our expectations. Our family of 5 was so happy and comfortable in this gorgeous perfectly equipped log cabin. Just note…the bedrooms are in separate cabins and you have to walk (only a few steps!) outside to get to the main kitchen / living room cabin. This was only an issue for our 7 year old who felt cut off from the rest of us at bed time. The property is fantastic and the river is a lovely very short walk through the field. And the river is spectacular! It is shallow but flows very fast in places. Bring some floaties / PFDs as there are none at the house. There is so much to see in the Margaree area. Dancing Goat just up the highway was a highlight meal and Egypt Falls and the Gysum Mine were our favourite day trips. Would very happily return!!!
