Positive: I highly recommend staying at Giraffe House! From the very beginning, the entire team kept me well informed and made the booking process effortless. A special thank you to Mr. Aurélio, who ensured everything went smoothly and helped make our trip completely stress-free. We traveled with Nagi Transport Services and, despite some reviews we had seen beforehand, we found the service to be clean, organized, comfortable, and spacious enough for a pleasant journey. Upon arrival, Mr. Anádio personally collected us from the terminal and made sure our stay was smooth from start to finish. We never felt like guests—we felt like family. The hospitality was truly exceptional. Vilankulo itself is breathtaking, with beautiful beaches and islands to explore. A huge thank you to Mr. Jeff from Sunset Dhow Safari for arranging an incredible boat trip to Bazaruto Island. We were not planning on going at first, but after some encouragement, we decided to join—and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip! The trip was well organized, professional, and absolutely worth every penny. Our guides, Alfredo and his team, were fantastic. They were knowledgeable, attentive, and made sure everyone had an unforgettable experience. They provided helpful snorkeling guidance, especially for beginners, which made us feel comfortable and confident throughout the excursion. The accommodation offers excellent value for money, and there are several restaurants within a 3–5 minute walk. I especially recommend Bush Beach Backpackers Restaurant, where we enjoyed delicious meals, fresh seafood, generous portions, and great prices. Kudos to Mr. Pedro and his staff for their wonderful service. Overall, this was an unforgettable experience, and I would not hesitate to stay here again. If you’re considering a trip to Vilankulo, don’t think twice—Giraffe House is a fantastic choice! Thank you to everyone who made our stay so memorable. We will definitely be back!

Positive: What I liked: Helpful Management: The manager was very friendly, spoke great English, and was quite accommodating. When we had a flood in the bathroom due to a broken bidet hose, he had it fixed and the water cleaned up immediately. Location & Pool: You can’t beat being right on the beach. While the pool was a bit dirty when we arrived, we really appreciated that the staff cleaned it extensively during our stay. The Food: While a bit more expensive than local options, the food was truly delicious. After the chef was absent for the first two days, the manager successfully arranged for a chef to come and cook for us on the third day. Room Comfort: The mattresses were firm and comfortable, and we had consistent warm water with great pressure. On-site Amenities: It was convenient to have a communal fridge for our own drinks and the option to book a Bazaruto boat trip (7000 MZN) or breakfast (600 MZN) directly on-site.

Negative: What I didn't like: Maintenance Issues: While the AC worked well initially, it began leaking a lot of water during our last two days, which was a bit of a hassle. Service "Hustle": It was often difficult to find staff at the bar or kitchen to place an order. It took three days of asking to finally get a dinner arranged due to the chef’s absence. Kitchen & Privacy: The "communal kitchen" isn't separated from the staff prep area, which made it feel a bit awkward to use while the staff was busy preparing meals for other guests. Mosquitoes: There were a massive amount of mosquitoes. While one of the beds had a net, we really needed them for all the beds in the room. Missing Essentials: There were no bins in the room, and the property could really use more "chill-out" areas (only two sunbeds available) and a drying rack for towels and swimsuits.
