Summary: An old character home that has huge potential but unfortunately a lot of tidy up work required. Greeted by a messy garage as soon as we enter driveway. My husbands foot nearly broke through rotten deck boards. We placed pot-plants strategically around deck so no-one would break through. Greeted by the smell of animal musk/urine as soon as we enter the backdoor (which cannot be locked from the outside). This was the worst part of our stay - the smell was awful. The oven does not work (despite comments from previous tenants). The elements only work if you have the dial in the right place, otherwise overload and cut-out. There was no Barbeque. We bought a mouse trap to catch the mouse that terrorised us the first night (that was actually entertainment plus, watching the ladies jump and scream). We caught three mice over the course of the week. You will need to buy your own firewood or coal for the fireplace. It sleeps 8 people (6 singles and one double).

Summary: Great location. Good sized house. But poorly used. Oven would not heat only grilled. The animal smell still lingered. And the double bed moved like it was about ready to fall apart. And more information if the fireplace was usable? And to bring own wood.

Summary: Was ideal for what we were after, a couple of nights for a ‘boys’ weekend away gold panning. The buffet at the Ross pub just over the road was a bonus!
