DESCRIPTION: Offering stunning ocean and golf course views, as well as privacy and modern facilities, Golfview provides the perfect Lorne getaway. With 5 bedrooms, 2 living areas, modern kitchen and 2.5 bathrooms, the house is configured to comfortably sleep up to 12 guests, however the thoughtful layout also makes the house suitable for smaller groups looking for a spacious yet cosy coastal escape.
On the main floor is the open-plan living area, incorporating a designer kitchen with island bench, Bosch dishwasher, dual-door fridge, wide electric oven and a full suite of kitchen appliances and cooking equipment. The kitchen opens onto the spacious, light-filled lounge with a comfortable corner couch and a 65 inch TV with unlimited wifi and Netflix and Stan subscriptions. The lounge also includes split system air-conditioning and a fully stocked Coonara wood fire, as well as an adjoining dining section with seating for 8 and ocean views.
The main living area opens onto the enormous main deck with outdoor table, sun lounges, cushions, modern barbecue and stunning ocean and golf course views. The deck is also fully enclosed, making it safe for young children.
Also on the main floor is a separate powder room/toilet next to the main living area, as well the master bedroom with queen sized bed, pillow-top mattress and en-suite with double shower, toilet and vanity.
Downstairs you'll find another main bathroom (with European laundry and double showers), as well as three more bedrooms (including one which sleeps up to four people). You'll also find a large rumpus area with digital TV (plus Chromecast), as well as leather couches, a table-tennis table and split system air-conditioning/heating.
On the top level is our personal favourite, the tower room. This room is flooded with natural light and is the perfect place to escape the kids and read a book. It opens to its own, private deck and has a queen sized bed.
The house also includes heating in every bedroom, a selection of DVDs, CDs, books and games, plus facilities for small children (including highchair, 2 portable cots, plastic kitchenware, toys and kids’ DVDs/books). There's also a double parking bay for 2 cars next to the house with easy access (unlike many places in Lorne with impossibly steep driveways!!), plus parking spaces out the front for 2 additional cars.

ACTIVITIES
Just across the road from the house lies the Lorne Country club, a lush and superbly manicured 9 hole public course with stunning coastal views (9 holes $25 / 18 holes $35) as well as a selection of tennis courts ($20/hour). The beach is a mere two minute drive down the hill or a 10-15 minute walk (probably 20 to get back up). There are loads of interesting things to see and do in and around Lorne, including beautiful and varied short and long walks, waterfalls, galleries, cafes, restaurants, shopping and a movie cinema, as well as the classic Lorne pub overlooking the beach. Lorne is also famous for whale watching season (July-September) and is the perfect base for exploring the Great Ocean Road, with many amazing spots to discover within an hour’s drive.
FOR THE KIDS: Down on the large, open grassy foreshore next to the main beach you’ll find an impressive adventure playground, skate park and BBQ facilities. You’ll also find an open-air, beachfront sporting complex with swimming pool, spa, gym and café/restaurant, along with an assortment of activities and facilities for children, including mini-golf and water-games.

Summary: The house was good but the cleaner's could of cleaned it better before we came, since the owner pays them to do a good job. Personal I would cut the shubs out near the front door and maybe some trees down due to all the leaves around on the deck in case of fires or maybe cover the deck as you couldn't sit out side. Don't get me wrong the house was fantastic with the people we had very spacious not on top of each other which was really good and the owner was great to contact if we needed anything loved the cockatoos and Kookaburra's that came visiting us each day. Its a shame we couldn't book it to come back next year as you got to be quick. would definitely stay here again if we came back to Lorne

Summary: Big house with good views. Bathrooms very clean. Bedrooms comfy. Table tennis and foozball fun. Unfortunately, quite dirty under furniture. Could use a bit of maintenance, eg sink in laundry not able to be used, which was a nuisance as couldn’t soak/rinse clothes/ bathers etc in it. And outside furniture old and cushions very stained and dirty looking. We had a great holiday but a bit overpriced given the overall condition of the place. Host was good, always replied promptly and very helpful.

Summary: This house is in a lovely spot, with beautiful views and a short drive to shops and restaurants. The house has good bones but is in serious need of attention. Walls are scuffed and dirty, windows look like they've never been cleaned and there is a strong smell of mildew throughout but particularly on the lower level. Linens were supplied but sheets were pilled and uncomfortable and the towels were old and thin. The general level of cleanliness throughout was not great, particularly in the midst of a pandemic. There was some broken furniture and deck pailings which were bordering on unsafe. We expected more for the money we paid. On a positive, the size of the house is great for a big group and the golf course views make for excellent kangaroo viewing. This house could be excellent with a bit of love and attention
