Gone Coastal is the real deal, this wonderful traditional style kiwiana bach is the perfect holiday retreat from the world. Pack up the family and head to the waterfront of Warea where there is a handful of traditional kiwi baches and an awesome laid back surfer and fishing vibe. Situated right on the waterfront and oh so tranquil and relaxing. Home to the replica Cape Egmont Light House/Museum, with the real light house been a 5 minute drive along the coast road. Next door to cape Egmont boat club, enjoy Friday dinner at the club house (open labour weekend through to easter).
A play ground for surfers, paddleboards, windsurfers, kayaks and jet skis. 5 minute drive to some of the best surf breaks, Stent and Kina Roads.30 minute drive to New Plymouth. 20 minutes to Opunake.
Make sure you load the car with the food, the games, fishing rods and get away from the stresses of everyday life. This bach has ladlefuls of nostalgia, beachside days, scented bbq evenings, sunscreen, jandals, icecreams, fresh fish and sandy sheets. Gone Coastal is a large beach bach perfect for the entire family, with plenty of beds and bunks for the children to sleep. Three spacious bedrooms and two additional singles and a sofa bed in the lounge, sleeping up to twelve guests.
Fully equipped kitchen, large deck where you can watch the waves rolling in. Two bathrooms, one with a bath and the laundry room with a shower, washing machine and clothes dryer. Limited wifi. Plenty of lawn for a game of cricket. Children can swim at the boat ramp, but must be supervised at all times.

Reviewer Comments: The house was spacious, well equipped, comfortable, and in an amazing location close to the beach (rocky beach not suited to swimming). 30 min drive to New Plymouth centre, 15 mins to fantastic swimming beaches. Coastal Road provided good walking track with scenery. Campground right next door. Lighthouse was good to visit, 2 min walk from house. House was moderately clean, we definitely left it cleaner than we found it, left the owner feedback as to how this could be improved. BBQ wasn't working which was disappointing. Outdoor area could do with a tidy up. A bit overpriced given lack of cleanliness.

Day views are calming and night views are exciting. This is our third stay and we will return again.

The location is fabulous being far enough away from a suburb to make it feel like a holiday but not too far to be able to grab things you’ve forgotten. Looking at the ocean from the deck was so beautiful and we were even able to visit and be given a tour of the museum lighthouse 1 minute walk away. We had a great weekend and I highly recommend staying here!

The weather was very wet but this batch has a washing machine and dryer which was a blessing for us.
