There are 3 separated houses that share the common areas like Swimming Pool, Jacuzzi and BBQ Deck, and it offers you the flexibility to rent each house individually or the entire complex as one. This listing is ONLY for PIE IN THE SKY 2
- Pie in the Sky 2 is the perfect place for a small family or group of friends. Each one of the 2 bedrooms have one comfortable queen size bed, A/C and private bathroom. Also a comfortable futon on the living room that opens to a double bed and sleeps 2 extra persons.
- The fully functional kitchen with granite counter tops is equipped with everything you need to prepare energizing breakfasts or delicious dinners.
- The views are simply spectacular, either if you are resting in the house, cooking steaks in the BBQ deck or swimming in spring fed pool & jacuzzi you have panoramic views of the Arenal lake and the volcano.
- THINGS TO DO: There are lots of tours to keep you entertained for days, Volcano hikes, Zip Lines, Hanging Bridges, ATV tours, Kayak and Paddle-board tours, Rainforest and Waterfall hikes, Horseback riding, Hot Springs, Wildlife watching tours and more. All of these are less than half an hour away from the house.
Our concierge is always available at our new and modern Welcome Center to help you book tours, find the best restaurants, book a massage and get the most out of your time in the area.
-LOCATION: El Castillo is approx. 3 hours (150km) from both international airports, either in the capital of San Jose, or on the northern pacific coast in Liberia. La Fortuna, which is a small city that offers amenities such as grocery, banking, post office, restaurants, hot springs, excursions and much more, is only 30 minutes away.
- GETTING AROUND: You will want your own Rental Car. While there are a few things to see and a couple of restaurants within walking distance of the house, there are many activities that require a 10 to 45 minute drive. You will not be happy waiting for a cab to arrive either coming or going.
*ROAD UPDATE: Some reviews mention the necessity of a 4x4 car to access the property, the drive up to the house was steep, rocky and sometimes slippery, but after Sep. 5th of 2022 it's completely paved, so any type of car will be able to make it up and down the hill without problems.

Summary: This property is absolutely spectacular. We stayed in the 2 bedroom unit. It was spacious and had everything we needed. Amazing landscaping all over the property with beautiful views. Close to the hot springs, lake activities, and La Fortuna. Thost happened to be in property

Summary: We have been staying in the Pie in the Sky houses for years, and we have turned on some of our friends to the place. Spectacular views and great birding right from the porch! Augustín has always been great to work with, and the new owner, Ron, is very nice. We will return again!

Summary: The house was very clean, modern and spacious. The reviews on the beds are accurate: new mattresses are a must for this listing to continue to be successful given the squeaking of movement in bed. But the real jewel of this listing is the pool and hot tub and unparalleled views. It would be a wonderful property to rent out all three houses for a large group and even to hold a little wedding at.

Summary: Our communication with Augustin and team in advance of our visit were great and their advice and attention throughout our stay were amazing. The photos in the listing don’t do justice to this stunning house and grounds. It is a bit off the beaten path but convenient to many activities. We enjoyed tours of the volcano, La Fortuna waterfall, and the hanging bridges. Add to that a half day of fishing on Lake Arenal, a coffee and chocolate tour and in-house massages! We highly recommend this property!

Summary: a very adequate, clean, good location but while it showed tv's in the room, there were not. the beds need replacing, noisy and old. but the views were wonderful.

Summary: I saw this Vrbo while planning a trip for my family ( 4 kids ages 14-22) and it was the reason I chose Costa Rica. It does not disappoint. You share the hot tub, pool and eagles nest with two other homes- but we never saw anyone else while we were there. There’s a great pizza place nearby- Howlers. We could share a couple of pizzas. From this home we did the la fortuna waterfall and Rio Celeste waterfall and did some kayaking on arenal lake ( super close by). We liked all of it. We also like el patio restaurant
