Positive: the location is great. very pleasant staff. parking was easy. the bed was comfortable, room clean. i always feel safe at the graduate. we loved the rooftop bar.
Negative: i think the room felt a bit tired. i've stayed in many graduates and i love the concept. this was the least nice of the five or six i've stayed in.
Summary: i will continue to stay at various graduates, but not in charlottesville.

Positive: Great location right on the corner and an easy walk from campus.
Negative: It seemed a little like a makeover of some old hotel with kitschy decor trying to achieve an antiquey look but really just covering up some outdated bathroom floors and showers. Did not feel luxe for the more expensive price tag. You’re paying for the location. Went up to the 9th floor for the bar/restaurant. The lights were on, TV was on, no bartender or people. We waited a good bit of time and no one ever came. Valet service was spotty. Would have been quicker to just get our own car.

Positive: Room + location was great! Bed was very comfortable bed and liked the desk in the room. Bathroom was also very nice
Negative: Had to pay for parking! Was not happy about that and surprised it's not included - also we had to leave at 5:45 am and the cafe did not open for coffee until 6pm
