5 Bedroom House in Salem

Built by one of Salem's shipping families in the 1820's, our 3 story brick home is rich with restored plaster moldings, original woodwork, and charming details. It has 5 sunny bedrooms (sleeps 9) and 3 full baths plus a powder room (all fully renovated with marble mosaic floors and modern fixtures). There is a gracious living room with original carved marble mantle, large dining room (whose walls are covered with hand painted silk wallpaper), a large eat-in kitchen with a commercial range, a comfortable family room and a library. There is also a deck off the kitchen for enjoying a meal or your morning coffee while overlooking the garden. The house has been completely renovated to the highest standards but retains all of its original charm and detail. All beds have Italian Frette linens and bathroom have Frette towels.
We are located on renowned Chestnut Street, in Salem's exclusive Mcintire Historic District.
We are just across the street from the Phillips House Museum and within walking distance to the Peabody Essex Museum, Hamilton Hall, the Witch House, downtown Salem and the waterfront.

Summary: The home and location were better than the photos with everything we wanted for our stay. The owner was gracious and welcoming, responding to our questions quickly. The home was elegantly designed with gorgeous colors, beautiful art and touches of tasteful whimsy. The four of us women each had our own bedrooms and slept well in comfort.

Summary: This is a beautiful property. The owners are wonderful and keep this historical property in marvelous shape. We were a group of 6 and there was plenty of space and more. I would definitely rent rhis place again in the future.

Summary: We enjoyed staying in this beautiful home for our daughter's wedding weekend in Salem. The house is full of interesting art and beautiful furniture, which was pretty impressive. We felt very comfortable with our family of nine, and everyone had their own space. Great location and historical street. Just wonderful! Michael was quick to respond, which is always appreciated. I would highly recommend this home! thank you for our stay!

Summary: We are a family of adults who were here for a wedding weekend of events. This is a beautiful historic home appropriate for adults who can climb stairs (some bedrooms are on the 3rd floor) and are mobile. The home is in a lovely location of a very walkable neighborhood close to downtown Salem. The host was very friendly and helpful! We would highly recommend this location.

Summary: This was the perfect place to stay in Salem! Michael, the host, was very helpful and answered any questions about the house we had. He offered recommendations for restaurants and places to see/things to do. The house was OVER THE TOP PERFECTION! The owners have done a FABULOUS job with the decor and the location couldn't be any better. Stay here if you get the chance. You won't be sorry!!!!
