Come explore our 8-acre nature retreat on the Grand River. Hangout together in the open-concept great room, while gazing at the surrounding forest. The kitchen is fully equipped and ready to host delicious meals. There are 3 comfortable bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the main floor and a large loft bedroom and bathroom upstairs.
Great for families - inside you will find plenty of board games, toys for kids, and books to read for bedtime. WiFi is provided throughout the house, along with a Smart TV in the living room just above the fireplace, equipped with Netflix and internet access. Outside enjoy the deck, fire-pit, pond and walking path, then trek to the river to fish and canoe (provided). Bring hiking boots and be sure to look for the deer and wild turkey that also call the backyard home.
Our house is fully outfitted for a comfortable and fun weekend. To make your stay even more enjoyable please note the following, and consider packing:
- Extra media devices - We purposefully only have 1 Smart TV in the living room. If you plan to chill in your own room - bring a tablet/phones/laptop etc. and connect to the WiFi.
- Hiking boots - We have trials on the back 8-acres, they can be muddy/wet and are just more fun with the proper footwear.
- Winter accessories - The house has central heat and air; but it is just hard to heat in Michigan winters. Please crank up the thermostat! We also recommend turning on the ceiling fan to circulate the air. Pack an extra pair of socks or slippers and note the fire comments below.
- Fire accessories - There is a lovely fireplace in the living room and two outside fire-pits on the property. In February & January, please bring firewood if you would like to use these. Marshmallows are also a good idea! During other months of the year, you can just gather dead wood on the property. But in the middle of winter, unfortunately everything is buried under snow. Also, you are welcome to use the pellet stove if you bring your own pellets (available at Lowe’s).

Summary: The space was great--very functional for our big group. Having bedrooms and bathrooms on the main floor was nice for our elderly relative. Communication with host was timely. There was an hour difference in the check-in time provided by VRBO and the check-in instructions from our host so we adjusted our plans, but when we arrived the house was all cleaned and ready for us. Had to hunt around for dish towels, and one of the three we found was dirty. I'm guessing the last guests shoved it in a drawer, so the cleaners didn't see it. No big deal. We supplemented with hand towels from the towel closet. Kitchen was very functional--loved feeding our big group there. Lots of hanging out on the sectional together. Everyone LOVED the little lake in the back and proximity to the park. Bird book was a big hit, too. Location was optimal! We felt like we were out in the country, but only 5 minutes from our loved ones and 10 from groceries etc. The sippy cups in the cabinet warmed my heart. Very homey!

Summary: We had a wonderful stay and greatly enjoyed staying at Leah’s property! The house is beautiful, extremely spacious, and has a great property/yard/pond. The pictures online do not even nearly do justice to the aesthetic of the home. We had 8 adult men on our stay and extremelyyyy comfortable and spacious beds and living situations plus 3 full bathrooms. It’s in a great location, at an excellent price, and we had an amazing stay. Summary: Really enjoyed the stay. Very quiet and peaceful area and property. Plenty of room for our guests. The large kitchen island was a great hangout spot for games during a rainy day. Rooms were very clean and all items were in working order. Only slightly negative thing to pass along to future guests might be the odor from the water likely l due to excessive iron. Didn’t bother me, bothered some guests. Overall, this is a fantastic property, great communication from the property manager, and a wonderful time!

Summary: We stayed here for two days while awaiting for our sons college graduation. Home has a great location being close to everything but giving you the feeling you are out in country. Was a perfect place for our family to celebrate

Summary: The house is beautiful and space was as described. We had an issue where we accidentally got locked out and needed access to a key. It took 4 hours to get the access code to the lockbox, which was 3 1/2 hours too long. I would rent it again, but would make sure the communication issues were resolved!

Summary: We had a great time during our stay. The only ding keeping me from giving a perfect 5 star was the kitchen and the dishes. All seemed to be rather dirty prior to our use. We know there is hard water + water softener but we had to wash dishes before use. Overall a great stay :)

Summary: Just minutes from our family in Grand Rapids, this house was everything we needed for our large visiting family. We all fit comfortably, enjoyed plenty of quality time walking in the woods and roasting marshmellows in the pit. After waking up to snow falling, a fire in the fire place was a nice finishing touch. Definitely recommend this location and we will be back soon.

Summary: This is a great spot, the kids loved playing out back around the pond. My whole family is in Lowell so it was perfect for us. we spent so much time with the family I was wishing we had more time at the rental when we left! if ther was one thing I would change it would be adding a water softener to the property, The water is quite hard and smells like eggs when you first turn on the shower. Summary: Our circumstances were a little unusual, in that we stayed at this house b/c it was one of the few that would accommodate our family of 8 adults with everyone having their own bed & not having to juggle too few bathrooms. We used this house for a place to sleep as we had family commitments all weekend. I would have given 5 stars, but the hand towel in the Master bathroom was stained & looked as if it had not been washed before we arrived. The other downstairs bathroom toilet did not look clean. While these were not show stoppers for us, we are used to VRBO Super Host quality rentals. I would still recommend this rental with a few warnings.
