Positive: We chose this hotel based on its 4-star rating, hoping for a comfortable and relaxing stay. While some aspects met our expectations, unfortunately, others fell short. The room was spacious and cosy, and the food at the restaurant was quite good. There was ample parking, and the location is convenient, especially if you're travelling by motorway. The spa area is quite nice and organised.
Negative: The hotel facilities seem dated and would really benefit from some refurbishment. The biggest issue, however, was our experience during what appeared to be a large fundraiser or event held at the hotel. From the moment we arrived at the restaurant, it was clear that the event was affecting the overall guest experience. The dining area was shared between event attendees and regular guests, resulting in an extremely loud and chaotic atmosphere—we could hardly hold a conversation or enjoy our meal. Later that evening, things got worse. As we returned to our room, we witnessed two guests running through the corridors in their underwear. Trying to sleep was nearly impossible: the event continued until around 3 am, and it seemed many of the attendees were also staying in the hotel. There was loud noise from the corridors and the car park beside the rooms throughout the night. In the morning, we attempted to make a complaint but were told the manager was unavailable. Eventually, during breakfast, the manager did speak with us and offered a refund for the breakfast, which we appreciated, but overall, the experience was disappointing and far from what we expected from a 4-star hotel.
Summary: Poor Guest Experience for a 4-star Hotel

Positive: The reception was very quick, practical, polite and showed all professionalism and kindness. The room is sensational and the pool is absolutely wonderful. Very clean and no harmful cleaning products. Everything was wonderful.
Negative: The sockets near the bed are different from the Irish standard. It would be interesting if they changed them or put in an extension or adapters so that we could use the sockets near the bed.

Positive: Spacious bedroom with all you need
Negative: Carpet in room very stained, large function on the night of our stay so very little sleep, around the stairwell in morning half empty beer glasses and lots of confectionery rubbish.
Summary: Stayed many years ago and it was beautiful, seems to have gone down hill, staff not very friendly and a one male recepti
