Summary: The staff was REMARKABLE! They helped me with my heavy bags, offered an early breakfast, and were VERY friendly. Even though I don't speak Japanese, and they speak very little English, check in was easy.

Summary: Service was top notch, very friendly and helpful. Room was tiny, which was surprising given that it is a small town (Tokyo, yes, very tiny accommodations because of tremendous population density). All in all, a very good place that I would recommend.

Summary: Excellent service, great facilities, restful stay. I cannot recommend this location of Green Rich highly enough. We arrived around 6PM with a tired baby, and check in was smooth and friendly. We were grateful to be able to upgrade to a larger room, and the pillow selection (available to all rooms by selecting a memory foam or comfort pillow from the hallway shelves) was a nice touch. Sento was pleasant and a great start to the day. If you are driving near Hamura and need an easy place to stay, this is a great choice. Location is walkable to several restaurants and at least one convenience store. While we did not have time on this trip to see the local Kagura performances, we were interested to read about them for the next time we are here.

Summary: This was my second stay at the Green Rich Hotel. The location is very convenient and within walking distance of Hamada Station. There are many restaurants in the neighborhood, and there is a 7-11 also within walking distance if you prefer to buy things for breakfast rather than having the hotel breakfast. There are many tourism pamphlets about the Iwami region and Shimane prefecture in various languages. I also like that there is an assortment of pillows as well as loungewear near the elevator to choose from. The extra bonus was being able to watch the lunar eclipse from out my window on the 9th floor. I would definitely stay again!

Summary: The Green Rich Hotel staff were very friendly, polite, and professional. A local college student who spoke English was on duty one of the evenings during my stay. I had sent a piece of luggage by delivery service and it was waiting for me upon arrival. I was also welcomed with a ladies' amenity set which included a free facial mask. I liked that there was a selection of tea bags and coffee in the lobby and that we could take 2, as well as any amenities that we needed (brush, cotton buds, razor, etc.). The hotel also has a placard to allow guests to be environmentally conscious and opt not to have bed linens changed, or not to have the room cleaned at all. In case of the latter, fresh towels and a bath mat are left in a bag and hung on the doorknob. The hotel is located quite close to JR Hamada Station. The lobby/dining room has large picture windows facing the street so the space is airy and bright. There is a computer for guests to use, as well as counter space with electrical outlets for people who wish to charge their mobile phones or computers. There is a large shared bath, showers, and sauna on the ground floor, as well as coin laundry. The only minor flaw is that the hotel only has one elevator. The nights I stayed, the hotel was full of school sports teams, so there was a bit of a wait to get up or down during busy times. The elevator was labeled with a warning about crowded conditions around check out time, so I was prepared to wait.
