Positive: great breakfast choice, although we were there when apparently the hotel was fully booked, so it gets quite crowded, the room is not sooo big. But great choice overall! The chateau itself is really beautiful and also the surroundings!

Negative: be aware that you have to reserve the spa, we did not know and it was busy all afternoon and we only got a slot very late. Also the gym, spa and your room might be in different parts of the chateau and you might need to cross the courtyard in training outfit (it was cold when we were there, so not ideal). Our room was nice, but overall it was too dark only with a small window, so you might want to get a higher category than just the simple double room. Overall the price-value raport is not perfect, I find it a bit overpriced for what you get. But we also did not play Golf and it is clearly laid out for Golfers. Be aware, there are no villages of cities nearby, Beaune is about 35' by car, Dijon a bit more, so be prepared to commute in case you want in larger cities.

Positive: The chateau and grounds were beautiful. The staff were all very friendly, and the room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. We enjoyed an evening drink in the courtyard, and the bar was nice. I'm sure it is better during peak season, when there are more staff and things are running smoothly.

Negative: We went off season (Easter) and it was quite a shambles. We chose this hotel as a treat for our family to break up a long journey. We chose it because it had an on site restaurant, but when we arrived it turned out the restaurant was closed. We were able to buy a plate of cheese and charcuterie from the bar but that was it. Worse than that, there was no water anywhere in the hotel the following morning between 8 and 12.30. As it turns out, this was a planned shut off, but we were not told about this at the time of booking or when we arrived, which seems unbelievable! So none of us were able to shower in the morning, and all the toilets around the hotel were unflushed which was quite unpleasant. The air conditioning in our room was not working, and it was surprisingly hot for April so our room was too hot at night - however, maybe this works during summer? Breakfast was 25 euros a head which I thought was very overpriced for what we got- cheese and charcuterie (the exact same we had had for dinner), scrambled eggs and hash browns. We went to breakfast at 9.30 (it supposedly ran until 10.30) and there was no bacon left, no croissants. Coffee and tea were self serve. The fresh fruit was not on good condition. It really didn’t justify the price tag. When we checked out, they didn’t have our breakfast on the bill. I told the receptionist that we’d had breakfast and she offered it for free due to the issues we had. That was a nice gesture, and she and all the other staff were very nice (although some seemed very inexperienced, and obviously none of them had told us about the water being off), but we paid a lot of money for our one night and our experience was pretty bad. I think it warranted a bigger discount. I've scored 5 out of 10 based on potential, and assuming that we were just unlucky. Perhaps another time it could have been a 10!

Positive: Charming Place outside, the territory is very green and the views from upper rooms are great to wake up with. Breakfast was more extensive than regular French breakfast. Manager Husam was very helpful!

Negative: Some rooms are outdated, as well as beds and mattresses. Make sure you have booked and received the room in the renovated part of the hotel. The gym is very small and badly maintained ( absolutely nothing to do there).

Summary: Beautiful Castle from outside, but outdated inside.
