Positive: The room came with "one hour complimentary spa usage". We assumed this meant we might be allowed to use a sauna or steam. Upon arrival, the owner checking us in stated he is a medical doctor and owns the adjacent clinic, and would provide us each with a free facial treatment.
Negative: As a falang living in TH, I booked and paid for the hotel in my name. Upon arrival, which included the need to make a deposit, parking and room instructions, the owner never looked or spoke one word to me, but rather spoke 100% Thai to my girlfriend and ignored me except when taking my money, which my gf had to inform me of, since the owner did not speak with me. This would be no problem for me, but everything was in English and this was not a Thai style hotel and I was the only customer listed on the reservation. We went to the adjacent clinic for our treatments, and were surprised at the need to fill out many forms, which included asking about every medication and physical ailment we had, as well as our occupations and how much money we earned each month!?! The clinical assistant also seemed perplexed at the amount of paperwork, copies of documents, and signatures the owner required for a free treatment. The assistant then spoke to him and he berated and humiliated her right in front of us. The poor girl began to cry and was visibly shaken at how he treated her in public. The free treatment took about 15 minutes after the 45 minutes of paperwork and waiting. I understand the need for asking about medical situations when giving a treatment, but is seemed rather excessive, and although the owner berating his employee is also not my business, it was distressing to witness and was uncomfortable to both us, and the employee. The room was okay but the hotel is located on a road with traffic noise all day and night.

Positive: The place was spotlessly clean and beautifully quiet. All the staff were attentive and friendly. Because the property was so new and bed was incredibly comfortable
Negative: The breakfast was simple but satisfying.

Positive: Nice, large rooms. The hotel is ideal for visiting the railway and the floating market. The breakfast is a bit unimaginative. Every day there was an American breakfast with egg, boiled ham and simple sausages as well as toast and always strawberry jam and a small plate of fruit and orange juice. No Muesli or Corn Flakes or cerials. They did a great job organizing the cab from the train station in Pak Tho to the hotel. Almost all the staff speak little or no English. The staff were all very friendly, very attentive and helpful. There is are two very good but inexpensive restaurant closed to the hotel. One is on the opposite side of the road about 300 meters away.The other good restaurant is on our side of the road about 200 meters away. Both restaurants were in the direction of the railway market.
Negative: We found it a bit strange that there was a one-page, laminated list in the room of what it would cost if something was broken or missing. I have stayed in many hotels but this was the first time I had seen something like this.

Positive: Comfortable room with good shower. Good air conditioning. Reasonably close to centre of town Would probably suit someone who didn't want to speak to anyone at all.
Negative: I was seduced by the "9.1 Superb" feedback quoted in the listing. It wasn't "superb" in any way. It was mean-spirited and soulless. We didn't like having to pay a 1000 baht "insurance" deposit, especially when the front desk was not staffed regularly during the day, and not at all between 6.00 pm and 9.00 am, in spite of the totally inaccurate claim in the Booking.com listing that it has a 24-hour desk. This caused considerable anxiety as we needed to leave at 8.00 am on check-out day to catch a train. A member of staff did agree to be at the desk to repay the deposit, but we were anxious about whether this would happen as we had asked for the room to be made up and the sign on the door had been totally ignored twice. The laminated list of prices for items damaged was very petty and mean-spirited, assuming customers could not be trusted, and not what one would expect of a hotel which seems to think it is of good quality, but I put it to good use by using it to kill the mosquitoes in the room. The room was not tidied at all during a three-night stay. Three days of rubbish accumulated in the bin. The accommodation is listed as having a garden. It does not. Rooms are listed as having a "city view": ours had a view of the back of a Makro cash and carry. They sent repeated messages before check-in asking for a contact number, but my replies were returned as undeliverable. It was necessary to re-sign into the Internet every time we returned to the room. I would expect a hotel costing what this one did to have sockets for charging phones at each side of the bed, and to have bedside lights controlled from the bedside. The hotel felt new. They have a lot of work to do to make it welcoming, efficient, and customer-friendly.
