Vacationing at Hakuna Matata means no worries. Leave all of your cares behind while you vacation in this remodeled 2 bedroom 2 bath beachfront PET FRIENDLY coastal retreat! Located on the magical section of the east end of beautiful Holden Beach, where second row is first row, this charming home is only steps away from beach access, with a 180-degree unobstructed view of the ocean. Start your day watching the sunrise, and wind down with the spectacular sunsets.
Located on one level, the main bedroom has a full private bathroom with a walk-in shower and a king-sized bed. There is a private entrance to the large back deck where you can watch the masts of the sailboats as they cruise up and down the intracoastal, with ocean views as well! The second bedroom is ocean-facing with a queen-sized bed, and adjoins the full hall bathroom with brand new tiled walk-in shower. The living space offers a comfy L-shaped couch and dining table, with additional seating at the kitchen island. Both bedrooms and the living room have smart TVs – bring your logins to stream whatever you like. The front bedroom also has a DVD/BluRay player and a selection of DVDs for both kids and adults.
The large covered front porch offers a teak dining table as well as a Polywood seating set to relax on as you watch the waves, surfers, fisherman, dolphins and the occasional whale. Stretch out on the glider on the back porch or take a snooze in the shade on the hammock under the back deck. Kick back on the ground level seating set. And what's better, after a day of surf and sand, then a hot/cold water enclosed outdoor shower!
Amenities include stackable washer/dryer, dishwasher, new fridge with icemaker, Keurig coffeemaker, drip coffee maker, enclosed hot and cold-water outdoor shower, hair dryer, radio, DVD player and DVDs, puzzles, books and fiber optic WIFI. Alexa is there for more music choices, to answer questions about the area, check the tides and weather – whatever! USB chargers are available in the living room and both bedrooms. The newly updated kitchen is fully stocked with a toaster, toaster oven/air fryer, blender, hand mixer, Instant Pot, crock pot, stock pot, ample pots, pans, casseroles and baking sheets along with spices, dishtowels, potholders and dishwasher soap. Starter paper goods are supplied and a “Welcome Basket” will be waiting for you! Hakuna Matata is pet friendly, at the owner's discretion.

Summary: My husband and our pups had a wonderful stay! The house has a beautiful ocean view, and is conveniently located in a quiet and less busy part of Holden Beach. Lots of deck space, well-appointed kitchen and a cozy kind bed! We had a few rainy days during our visit, but the house had books, games, and of course the covered porch to still enjoy the ocean. We'll definitely come back!

Summary: You can’t beat the location on this house- ocean view from the comfortable front porch, near 2 Stairways for beach access, no neighbors to the back or one side. Is it fancy? No. But it’s cozy, clean and provided what we needed. One “gripe” would be that the window coverings for the front bedroom might be better if they were blackout- my kids were up early each day because the sun was too bright. To note: this is managed by ProActive Vacations and ALL of my emails from them went to junk despite me marking them as VIP. So I almost missed making a payment and did not think I had received check in instructions. So if you book, keep an eye out for those emails.

Summary: This little beach house located just steps from the Beach was so cute and comfortable for 2 couples. We all enjoyed how close this house was to beach access, a very short walk to the steps over the dunes. We loved the view of the surf from the front porch and living room. We spent almost everyday on the beach except for when Hurricane Ian decided to interrupt our fun. The homeowners came by to secure items before the storm and were very nice and welcoming. All of us agreed that we would definitely stay again. Beds were comfortable, rooms were clean and dishes and pots and pans plentiful. We used the charcoal grill for fresh shrimp. I loved taking showers in the outdoor shower. All in all I would recommend this place to all my friends and family. Holden Beach is a treasure, nice and relaxing and not to touristy.

Summary: While overall the property is good enough, this property has huge potential to be a great, quaint little place for a small family (2 parents and 2 kids who don't mind sleeping in the same bed). Definitely some "handyman specials" all around the property but I guess if it stays rented it doesn't really matter. You can't beat eating meals from the porch with unobstructed views and sounds of the ocean with the access to the beach for the price. Beach can get a bit crowded right in front since there are 2 beach accesses on both sides of the block. While small, I wish things were better laid out to make things more functional inside. For example, not having outlets on both sides of the bed in the master or just simply adding more hooks in the master bath. The kitchen is tiny and lacks prep space for meals, so maybe having less cluttered shelving would provide more storage space to free up the island for prep. The property wasn't the cleanest, I'll put that on the property management company, the furniture could use some refreshing as well. The porch couch cushions were so dirty that I needed to wash them before I would even let my family sit on them. Ocean Blvd Coffee ice coffees (~2.75miles round-trip) provided motivation for some morning exercise and support local business. The outdoor shower is awesome...used that almost everyday after the beach! The charcoal grill sucks especially since it's way too windy all day to light it. EV owners: 110v charging is easily accessible from the storage room where the grill is kept. I had to plug in the outlet near the floor joist where the tankless water heater is located. The outlet near the door wouldn't work for my Tesla plug nor the 220v located in there too.

Summary: This property was excellent! Location was perfect and the house was exactly what we needed to be comfortable. Our oven broke and the rental company responded within the hour and had it repaired with no inconvenience to us. Highly reccomend this house and the rental company. We had a wonderful vacation and made many memories.
