A fantastic property, Harbour House, 20 Shoregate is set high on a stunning spot in Crail with uninterrupted views to the sea and Isle of May. Harbour House can also be rented with our adjoining property, Harbour Cottage, for larger groups.
Located only 10 mins drive from St Andrews and just over an hour from Edinburgh, Crail makes a great base for a holiday in the Easts Neuk of Fife and despite its proximity to the central belt of Scotland, it couldn't feel further away from life's stresses and strains. One of the many quaint villages along this stunning east coast, Crail was recently named in Skyscanner's top 10 Most Beautiful Villages in the UK Award.
The House is situated on the East Neuk Coastal Path, making it a great location for walkers. Also on our door step are some of the world's oldest and top rated golf courses including Crail Golfing Society, Kingbarns and The Old Course at St Andrews.
Harbour House has plenty of space for 8 guests to stay in style and comfort. There are 4 bedrooms (2 double and 2 twin rooms). The adjacent Harbour Cottage sleeps 2. From all windows there are amazing views to be had both out to sea and over rooftops to the harbour. It is a unique spot indeed.
Delightful drawing room with Chesney National Trust log burning stove, comfortable sofas, LCD Digital TV and Bose DVD surround sound.
Luxury kitchen and diner (seating eight). The kitchen is fully equipped with integrated dishwasher, gas hob, fan oven, Nespresso coffee maker, fridge freezer, microwave and washing machine. Underfloor heating.
Contemporary ensuite and decadent Victorian bathroom with roll top bath and shower attachment . Underfloor heating in both ensuite and bathroom.
Cast Iron Radiators supplying central heating in all rooms.
Delightful, enclosed garden with patio and barbecue - views down to harbour and out to sea. Outdoor furniture seats 6-8 guests on the sunny patio to the front of the House.

Summary: Whole family enjoyed the views and being so central. Slight problem with one of the toilets and a shelf or cabinet in the main bathroom would have been helpful but these were very minor things and they did not prevent us having a wonderful long weekend.

Summary: A gem in a perfect location for a family holiday with so many amenities close by. Come rain or shine it was always a joy to return to the well equipped and tastefully decorated Harbour House and Cottage. We appreciated the little extras such as the games and children’s reading books. The owners went out of their way to ensure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. A huge thank you.

Summary: We spent a wonderful weekend in this gorgeous gem of a beach house. Ideally located just minutes from the beach and with stunning views from the property. The hosts Lynne and Gavin were warm, responsive and went above and beyond with our requests! We loved it and will definitely be back - thanks so much.

Summary: We had a wonderful stay at the Harbor House in the heart of Crail. A wonderful place from which to explore the Fife coastline. Lynne was very responsive to our inquiries. Only disappointments were not having a clothes dryer and a microwave. We would have loved a drip coffee maker as well. Also, bring slippers ... you cannot wear shoes on the upper levels.

Summary: House proved perfect for four golfing pals - lots of space, well presented and with all the basics required for self-catering provided. It's ideally located for sauntering around the town. The welcome pack was a nice surprise and much appreciated. Administration arrangements around the booking were smooth and hassle free. I'd have no hesitation in recommending the house to friends.

Summary: I cannot give enough positive feedback for The Harbour House. Lynette is a great host, really helpful and communicative. The house was so warm and welcoming and really well appointed. The views from the house from front and side are outstanding. If you have mobility trouble with stairs, as with most old houses in the UK, there are a few stairs but there are hand rails. This place is just so lovely words don’t do it justice. There were 7 of us and it never felt crowded.
