Positive: This is a small, yet very comfortable apartment right in the heart of Manly, as the name says! The bed is comfortable, the bathroom and shower are big, clean, and work great, and the kitchen is great and well-equipped with everything you need. The *location* is PRIMO, central and close to the beach, the Corso, and pedestrian-only areas with amazing cafes and shops (and no traffic noise as the building is adjacent to the pedestrian-only area. There is also a great little balcony, although the view is not particularly spectacular, you have to pay A LOT more for a rental or hotel with a beach or harbour view. There is however a nice rooftop pool with lots of sun!! The people that rent the apartment are also really helpful and super-nice and were always available for questions, etc., and the place was lovely and clean when i arrived. This is a fantastic rental, with a great price, all the facilities, and as close as you can be to the beach, ferry, harbour, scenic walks, cafés., etc. The only thing that is not perfect is the view, but you have to pay far more for a beach view, and given the close walking distance to EVERYTHING i would rate this rental properly very highly, especially if you want to live like a local. :)
Negative: Liked everything! So many great features, the only thing lacking is killer views, but the balcony offers a view on to the side street / pedestrian walkway, and shops so it is all in all a great stay / location

Positive: Location was excellent. Close to EVERYTHING...the beach, the eateries, the ferry, coastal ocean walk to Shelly Beach & lookout and the pretty harbourside walk. Both walks were cemented all the way. Manly is a lovely place. The apartment was clean and was well equipped with everything needed. It was perfect for our 3 night stay. Hosts were very obliging & helpful and they really want you to enjoy your stay. Nice to be able to sit outside on the small neat balcony. A large tv, free wi-fi, free Netflix, toiletries, dish washing liquid, milk, tea & coffee were all provided. There were umbrellas if raining and beach low chairs in the wardrobe if needed or wanted. The bed was not comfortable for me with my sore back but my husband thought the bed was fine.
Negative: Nothing the hosts can do about this: 1. Noisy rainbow lorikeets roosted every evening in trees near the apartment. We had to close the balcony door to hear the tv. They quietened down by bedtime and did not disturb our sleep. 2. Noisy water pipes when people above had a shower. We had to close the bathroom door to hear the tv. Something the hosts could probably fix - the volume on the tv was pre-set at 18, it could not be increased or decreased which was quite annoying when there are other noises around and you needed to increase it OR when your partner is sleeping and you only want the tv on very softly. The volume choice was 18 or mute...yes, that was annoying. But it did not annoy us so much that it spoiled our stay.
Summary: Loved it! Location was perfect. Enjoyed our 3 night stay. Thankyou.

Positive: The studio is in the heart of Manly and it is an easy walk to beach, shops and restaurants. The access instructions provided were very good and owners contact numbers were listed plus their offers of assistance if needed. The building has two lifts and the larger lift wasn’t working during our stay. The small one – listed capacity 6 but really only 4 – was operating. We used the fire stairs to leave the building but could not return that way because of the building security. The studio presents well. Kitchen has microwave, oven, cook top, pots and frypan, a small but adequate fridge/freezer and coffee machine. Sufficient cutlery and crockery, albeit an eclectic collection! There is an air conditioner and a ceiling fan. Large screen TV and wi-fi is good.
Negative: The bed has a foam mattress. REALLY!!! Ok if you are used to a soft bed, but not good if you prefer a hard one. We like the latter, hence my wife had 4 very bad nights sleep. The lounge certainly has seen better days. You get what you pay for with the quality of the linen too, cheap. The whole studio looks and feels like EVERYTHING (except the TV) has come from the Salvos!! An oven tray to warm the morning croissants would be good. Some tissues would be a nice touch. Plenty of toiletries and toilet paper though. There are two lifter chairs at the breakfast bar but only one works. If you like leaving your suitcase open so you can get to things, there isn't anywhere to place it apart from on the bed or on the breakfast bar. Watch out for the low ceiling fan, don't raise your arm or you will get hit by it. It should be placed over the bed where it would be much safer. Of major concern is the temperature of the hot water. Seriously, seriously, scoldingly hot. Be warned. Oh and a minor irritant, there are two locks on the front door with a sign warning guests not to lock the bottom one as it is very hard to unlock. Why not just replace the lock???
