ONE WEEK MINIMUM STAY. RATES and DATES (Saturday to Saturday) ARE POSTED. Sorry NO GUESTS (even for the day), NO PETS, NO SMOKING, no EVENTs,-no exceptions. If the lease and lead paint notification (Massachusetts state law) are not signed within 3 hours of booking, this reservation WILL BE CANCELED. You must bring your own towels and linens or rent them. I provide beach chairs and coolers. No I have rented my home for 18 summers. I have had over 110 happy parties enjoy their stay as I speak with every tenant and make sure my house meets their expectation. Since we cannot speak before booking, please read the agreement carefully and make sure this is the right house for you.
Rent an American Classic. This five-bedroom home sleeps ten comfortably. Built in 1867, this Sea Captain's home is one of a kind and provides a unique New England feel. Three sitting rooms, two patios, and two porches allow the group to spread out. Exceptionally bright and breezy, there are large windows and hardwood floors throughout. The downstairs features a large kitchen, dining room, den, family room, living room, and full bath. There are five large bedrooms and a bath upstairs.
The heated pool is completely fenced in and locked for safety. The spacious, private yard features two patios and ample furniture.
With every convenience close by, this house is in the heart of the historic district. Walk to Grand Cove, the playground, ice cream parlor, a cozy restaurant ("Clean Slate"), "3 Fins Roastery" (good coffee, funky venue), and family oriented Italian restaurant (Ardeo's).
The go-carts, trampolines, batting cages, bumper cars, kayak rentals are all approximately .5-2 miles away.
South Village Beach (mouth of the Swan River-great for boogie boards) and West Dennis Beach (lots of parking and located at the mouth of the Bass River) are both just 1.3 miles down the street. Central location facilitates trips to Hyannis, Chatham, Provincetown. Dennis has beautiful beaches on both Nantucket Sound and Cape Cod Bay (all accessible with a weekly pass).

Summary: This was a great property. Two families with children stayed in the house and never felt crowded. Having multiple sitting rooms meant it was easy to spread out and not feel on top of each other when the kids needed time apart, but also there was enough room to be together too. The pool was a big hit, and great on hot afternoons. The owner, Kathy, was very supportive and responsive, and did everything she could (from afar) to make sure we had a great stay. We'd definitely come back.

Summary: This was our first experience renting and we were very nervous. especially in light of the pandemic. But the house was so clean and our owner was so organized and helpful. The neighborhood was quiet and private. And the pool was an added bonus that completed our stay! We’d love to return!

Summary: The house is quite spacious with lots of sitting areas. The kitchen has everything you could need. Lots of outdoor sitting areas around the pool and on the property. The front porch was by far our favorite place to relax.

Summary: This historic sea captain's home is perfect for large groups (small groups, too!). We first stayed in Kathy's home during the summer of 2013 with a group of 8 adults and 3 children. The home was a perfect fit for us! We were never on top of each other and we all slept comfortably. When it came time to search for a property for our 2015 Cape Cod visit, it wasn't even a question...this historic home was the only one we considered (group of 6 adults and 2 children). For us, the pool really completes this property and adds to the entire vacation experience. Working with the owner, Kathy, is always smooth. She goes out of her way to assist her renters and she was especially good to us as returning renters. There is no other home I would considr after coming here...this is the perfect home for us! :) We look forward to staying here again!

Summary: Our family of 9 had a great time stay in this old Captain's House in West Dennis. The pictures do the house justice - it is very clean and well-maintained, with a good sized yard and a very nice pool. The 5 bedrooms can accommodate up to 10 people, and we were all very comfortable. The stairs inside are steeped, but our elderly parents (both around 80) were able to navigate them without much trouble. There are a lot of family activities to do locally (bowling, mini-golf, bumper cars, seafood & ice cream, and of course the beaches), and the pool is a great way to start the morning. We had everything we needed, and there were even 2 large TV's (and DVD players) for those who needed a TV fix. The rooms were large, fans in each room, and there were plenty of places to sit outside and inside (including poolside dining area and picnic table outside). The house is kept very clean and is nicely furnished, and made herself available if we encountered any problems (which we did not). Overall, a terrific vacation!

Summary: This large, bright & airy home provided a relaxing, comfortable stay for my family of 9. We had a great week spending time by the pool and took advantage of the many conveniently-located beaches and family fun spots in the area. The home and the pool are clean and well-maintained - a charming place inside & out. We appreciated the fact that it had 2 flat screen tvs, so the younger generation could watch their programs and the adults could enjoy their own in the evening. The pictures and description provided on the site are accurate. We had a great week and wouldn't hesitate to go back!
