Positive: This is a gated homestead with luxury rooms surrounded by an eclectic collection of interesting objects, including a suit of armour at the front door. There is a restaurant a few minutes away and lovely grounds. The bathroom was a standout.

Positive: Friendly welcome to a clean, comfortable room in a convenient location for breaking our journey.
Negative: As someone with asthma I would warmly welcome the avoidance of so called 'air fresheners' in bathrooms. A bit of a bother to make up something natural, I know, but it would make a deal of difference for a lot of people!

Positive: Excellent location as it is near supermarkets and a restaurant called Michelangelo's which was recommended by the staff. Very convenient for what I needed and would stay there again.

Positive: Unique room with lovely view and great refreshments. Wi-Fi was very good. Quiet location and excellent restaurant next door. Bus stop very close by with frequent service into city centre and/or shops. Overall location was excellent.
Negative: There was very little hot water in our bathroom and had to keep an eye on water level in the shower as it did not run away fast enough and was worried it might overflow. The double bed, although lovely, the end board proved a bruising hazard to shins on a few occasions. Had a problem with the kettle as the lid would not close or stay closed.
Summary: Really enjoyed our stay at Hedgefield House. A very quiet and tranquil place to spend the weekend.
