Welcome to Herons Nest Boutique Cottages next to beautiful Paw Paw Lake. This charming property is 1 of 5 super cute cottages, all new and tastefully furnished. Hickory hardwood floors, tiled baths and private deck w/grill. The property is complete with a firepit, 2 pergolas/swing, sand play court, parking and MOST OF ALL ACCESS TO PAW PAW LAKE. You can swim, launch your kayak or paddle board.

This cottage has A/C, queen size master bed, sleeper sofa, bunk bed in secondary bedroom, Fireplace (just for looks/non-functioning), bedding, cooking utensils, dishes, pot/pans , R/O water, microwave, dishwasher, range. The heat source is a Mini-Split (a/c & heat).

We are granted an exemption (for health reasons) for hosting service animals or emotional support animals. Any animal on the property will lead to an automatic eviction and $1000 fine per animal minimum.

We do not provide any equipment but if you need to rent kayaks, paddle boards, etc. please let us know and we will tell you our favorite shop in town!
We may require an ID and/or signed Rental Agreement or a refundable deposit prior to check in.
We only provide the initial supplies for the stay. If more are needed throughout the trip, It will be the guest's responsibility.
We do not have keys or access to our mailbox.
There may be construction in front of our cottage across the street. Not in our property.
HOUSE RULES

NO PETS ALLOWED! ZERO EXCEPTIONS! We will charge $1000 per night, per pet. We do have RING Camera's outdoors. NO pets, please do not ask.
Please Respect other Cottages privacy and be respectful to other guests
No smoking or vaping (of anything) inside the unit. $500 fine if home smells like smoke
Must check out by 11:00 am or will be charged $50 per 15 min past check out time.
Must book for total number of guests staying/visiting the home. $100 per unauthorized guest/night.
If a security team is called due to an infraction of the house rules, the guest agrees to pay for the security team ($500 minimum) and the duration of the reservation, even if removed by the security team due to the infraction.
Please DO NOT flush feminine products/paper towels/any foreign substance down the toilet (ONLY toilet paper). It is not good for the pipes and if there is an issue we may pass the charge onto the guest.
We do have Ring Cameras outside the property. Any blocking of the cameras will lead to an automatic eviction, forfeiture of security deposit, no refund and a fine. Please do not block these cameras.
Please no burning of candles, incense, or anything else in the home. If done, this will be treated as “smoking” in our house rules. Thank you.

Summary: OVERALL: We had 2 adults and 2 kids (5, 8 yrs old). Overall, this was a pretty good place and a pretty good price. We really liked the location in relation to South Haven and St. Joseph. Both of those towns are ~20 minutes away, so this rental allows you to go to a few beaches and at least a couple shopping areas. The exterior is very clean and presents very well (I'm sure you've seen the bright yellow doors). The interior was very clean and the kids loved sleeping in the bunks. A very solid rental for a small family. We wish it had a washer/dryer as well as a second bathroom, but we had a very good 3-night stay. Lastly, the pictures on this property show a dock, but that is a private dock adjacent to about 20 yards of public shoreline located across the street. We found other public fishing spots/piers on the lake, but it was a bummer that that dock wasn't a part of this rental (as we had planned). Looking at the pictures now, it is easy to see that there are watercraft hooked up, indicating that it's a private dock, but when hunting through hundreds of places to rent, it's easy to overlook those clues and think there is a dock available when you see a dock in the pictures. Overall, though, this rental did everything we needed it to do for a short family getaway. Pros: Super-clean and well-maintained exterior and interior Firewood/fire pit was a great feature Good living room space Kids loved the bunk beds Cons: Single bath made the after-beach showering a bit of a process No washer/dryer Photos show a dock on the water, but this property has no dock. There was about 20 yards of public shoreline available across a fairly busy road.
