Positive: Set in a scenic spot, the views from the rooms (especially upstairs) were lovely. The hostess was really nice and friendly and usually around on site if you need her. She works hard to keep the place clean and is laid back and patient. I stayed a few nights in 2 separate rooms. Both were basic, but a good size and the beds were comfy. The showers were acceptable. The kitchen area was handy, and some items like instant noodles and eggs were available to buy.

Negative: Location-wise it is a bit far out from the main area of restaurants and tour companies, though there are still shops nearby. There are steep and loose stones to climb up to the property. I was fine, but others should perhaps take extra care. It was cold at night, which was not helped by the drafts caused by gaps in the window frames and doors. This also meant insects got in...there was an ant infestation in the first room. However, this is not a luxuary place and its more in the wild, so I accepted this. A little expensive...I stayed in better places for cheaper in the PH, but still reasonable.

Summary: Hidden up a hill, an authentic place with a sweet host.
