Charming, spacious, and secluded vacation house with stunning marsh/ocean view. Quiet and secluded, yet easy access to Popham Beach and Bates-Morse Mountain Conservation Area. Just 15 minutes from the Bath area and 30 minutes from Brunswick. Easy drive to charming seafood restaurants and the art galleries of West Point village. Beautiful view of marsh and ocean, endlessly entrancing as the light changes through the day and year.
The house is spacious and comfortable, including a large living/dining area, large kitchen, huge upstairs bedroom with a queen bed and sleeping nook, a downstairs bedroom with king size bed, two single bedrooms, and a bedroom with two twin beds. There’s a screened porch off the side of the house for relaxing in the shade, and a large deck for soaking in the view. The house also comes equipped with an eclectic collection of books and vinyl records for your entertainment.
You have the whole house and private parking. House is surrounded by woods and marsh. Experienced paddlers can explore the marsh all the way to the beach and out to the ocean; canoe provided. There is an adjacent owner's cottage with separate parking area that may be occupied by family. Yard will not be used by family during your stay.
The Small Point peninsula supports a community of summer and year-round residents who have a deep respect for keeping the land as natural as possible. Private roads are dirt, beach access includes walking, shorebird nesting sites are protected. A convenience store is a 5 minute drive; serious shopping is a 15 minute drive to Bath. Summary: Beautiful and well kept! Perfect for family and kids! Quick drive to beach and fort in Popham, but a little more driving while on vacation to get to other sites/places. I would highly recommend for anyone who loves the country scenery!!

Summary: We were in the Bath area for a wedding celebration so the location ended up being a little remote for us, but the house is clean, well stocked, unique and has beautiful views. We did not have time to enjoy the kayaks and canoe but were able to get over to Popham Beach at low tide for a lovely walk on the beach and out to Fox Island. The owner responded quickly to any questions. My only suggestion is to leave two keys. We had 2 cars and had an issue arise where someone forgot to leave the key in the designated area and had to come all the way back from Bath.

Summary: My family and I loved our return stay at Hidden Ledge. It was as beautiful and restful of a vacation as we experienced the first time. The views from the upstairs master bedroom as well as the living room and deck are spectacular. We explored the pathway to the marsh. Visited Popham Beach, Fort Popham, Bath, Reid State Morse Mountain and day trip to Pemaquid to name some. Owners are most gracious and available for questions over the phone. The home is lovely and well equipped. We also appreciated the Popham Beach pass provided by owners. Loved the new appliances, relaxing around the lovely dining table and deck while listening to music, reading and spending time with family. Thank you for sharing your lovely home. Hope to return again next year.

Summary: We’ve stayed in a lot of vacation rentals all over the country, and this one of the more interesting ones. The house is not updated and it’s not perfect, but it’s very cool and has lots of charm, with interesting family history throughout. Great size—plenty big enough for our family of two adults and four kids and the fully-stocked kitchen and washer and dryer (which were very new) were great. There were plenty of towels and beach towels and sheets were nice. We also liked the screened patio. Distance from Bath isn’t super convenient (about 20 mins), but the proximity to Popham Beach State Park and Head Beach (a hidden gem) were fantastic. As others have commented, the mosquitos were awful, but that was the case in the whole area and a decent trade off for the beautiful view and quiet setting. My husband and kids loved taking the canoe through the marsh, too. We’re big air conditioning people so were a little worried about not having it for five nights, but it wasn’t a problem at all—breezes were great and the house felt too warm only one afternoon. Definitely be sure to use the state park pass located in the information binder—we didn’t realize we had it until the third day and spent more than $50 on park entrance fees, but it came in handy after that too. The owners were very pleasant and easy to work with and called a couple of times to see if we needed anything and provided some updates and area information via email too. We would stay here again.

Summary: This house is located on a very private gravel road with easy access from the main highway in the area. The view from the living room is a spectacular salt marsh with many birds visible from the sunny deck that faces south. The rooms are nicely furnished with many family artifacts that give it a homey feel. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans, serving dishes and spices. I would heartily recommend a relaxing stay at this home.

Summary: We had a fantastic stay at this rental. The biggest plus was the view of the salt marsh. It was relaxing to stare out and see the marsh and ocean. The house was very homey, comfortable, and stocked with all the essentials in the kitchen. A fun extra was the record player and eclectic record collection. I particularly appreciated the availability of one of the owners, who lives nearby, to graciously offer over the phone (and in person), additional advice on things to do and see in the area. We particularly chose this rental for its proximity to the water as we wanted to spend as much time being on the beach and exploring the shoreline, and this spot offers many options within short drives of the house. We took advantage of the canoe on site, and the ability to paddle through the salt marsh, another highlight of our stay. We're already planning to book a longer stay next summer!

Summary: This is a very comfortable, spacious, and clean house with everything one needs (including an amazing library). We especially enjoyed the view of the marsh and ocean. Hosts were welcoming and responsive. This is an area of Maine that we know and love to visit, and this is a lovely spot from which to enjoy it all.
