Positive: The perfect stay in the heart of the lake district. Amazing location, beautiful accommodation, and the best hosts! Location: The Barn has the perfect picturesque views of Bassenthwaite lake and the surrounding hills, each morning we were lucky enough to see the sun lighting up the top of the hills with our morning cup of tea! There are many great walks directly from the barn including Skiddaw and Keswick is only a short drive away. Accommodation: The Barn itself has absolutely everything you need to spend a little or a lot of time there. It's a great mix of modern and homely living. We enjoyed meals out but also cooking at home and chilling on that comfy sofa. The windows are also well positioned so you can see the great views at any time! Things to do: We were packed with activities throughout our entire time, everything from an incredible spa morning, hiking to various pubs and food places, then getting to the top of Skiddaw! The Bank Tavern pub and Craft Beer in Keswick were great and the Wheatsheaf Inn just outside Cockermouth had the best food. Host: Kathryn and Jordan were the perfect hosts, very kind, thoughtful and always wanting to make your stay as good as it can be. They have made the barn into such a beautiful, cosy and relaxing space for their guests to enjoy. Thank you both for such an awesome stay! We didnt want to leave but we will be back! (We will also miss their lovely dogs too much to not return!) Thank you!
Negative: Nothing!

Positive: We can't recommend this property more in terms of quality, facilities, location and hosts. We ended up cooking every night as the kitchen was so beautiful and every appliance and utensil you could want was supplied. My partner and I love running and walking and there are so many options right from the door. A particular highlight was a walk from the property up over the hills to Skidaw, just breath-taking scenery. If you book, you won't be disappointed.
Negative: We were desperate to see a Red Squirrel on our trip, but unfortunately none were hiding around the lovely grounds to the property. We did however see a baby rabbit every morning rolling around, so that made up for it. Nothing we really didn't like, and if I am pushed I would say there is a hole in the entrance driveway as you pass the entrance gate which could do with filling in.
Summary: Just a perfect break and the property is beautifully finished. Book up, you won't be disappointed.

Positive: High House Barn has been fitted out to a high spec’, whilst maintaining the interesting and warm feel of the barn’s history. It is private and quiet, and at the same time convenient off the main Bassenthwaite road. View exceptional. There were also plenty of caring and helpful touches, such as toys and games for all ages, and a smashing kitchen fitted out with all you could need. We were very impressed to begin with, and liked it more and more as we discovered it.
Negative: Not very much. We had a great time, and will definitely go back.
Summary: Very pleasurable, relaxing and special environment to stay in.

Positive: High House Barn has been renovated beautifully! The attention to detail is unmatched for a rental property in the area and we had everything we could have possibly needed for our stay. We brought our dog and he was able to run around and play in an enclosed garden with Kathryn’s two very friendly sausage dogs - the views from the garden were amazing! We really loved the huge map of the area on the kitchen wall - it was great for planning our walks every day.
Negative: It’s hard to fault it! The beds were really comfy, sheets were lovely and showers were great. The barn isn’t walking distance to any shops or pubs, so you’ll have to drive but it’s not the end of the world. We ended up eating dinner in every night and really enjoyed curling up in front of the TV with the fire on.
Summary: Beautiful and relaxing! A brilliant base to explore the lakes.

Positive: The Accommodation: The barn was perfect. It has been recently renovated to a high standard and was decorated beautifully. It featured two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully-fitted kitchen, and a bright and airy living space. It was even better than the photos. The views from the property were equally stunning. Hosts: Kathryn and Jordan are wonderful hosts; friendly and responsive. They strike the perfect balance between giving you privacy and being accessible should you need anything. Location: The location was ideal. The barn is located off of good roads, within a few minutes of the A66. It is within an easy drive of both Keswick and Cockermouth for supplies, and has numerous walks both from the property and nearby. Overall: Absolutely phenomenal place to stay. I look forward to coming back soon.
Negative: There was nothing I didn’t like.
Summary: Fabulous Lake District Accommodation!
