Summary: The area is as expected. the place could be great if they put effort into it. Bathrooms smell like urine pillows smelled of sweat and have stains burnt linen, marks on bed spread and towels It is a budget option, but the conditions of the place are just ridiculous. The bathrooms need to be properly cleaned not just wiped down. Invest in new pillows and bedding, at least give the exterior a coat of paint. There is potential since the actual rooms aren’t terrible but it needs some actual cleaning and some touc . If you just need a place to crash for a night it’s ok.

Summary: Bed was clean and comfortable. Room overall was rundown and showed lack of care. Basic items like shampoo (There were two conditioners) had to be requested.

Summary: The family who runs the hotel are great. Very approachable and affable. I would totally recommend stay at the Highlander. Next visit to the bay area, I'll be staying there.

Summary: This place was extremely clean and comfortable. It had everything I needed, staff was nice, and it was in a super convenient spot for what I needed. There is also a great little French Bakery right down the street.
