Positive: The cottage was much bigger than we were expecting. It was warm and the temperature was easy to operate. We didn't try the log burner as the central heating was sufficient. The kitchen (instructions for the hob and cooker would be useful) and bathroom were clean and the bed linen too but see below regarding mattress and carpets . Shower was fine. Good location for walks. Good pub a minutes walk away, friendly and welcoming with a good mix of locals and visitors.
Negative: I didn't look back at older reviews when I booked but the issues raised some time ago were still there. The bed was dreadfully uncomfortable (we only slept in one as just the two of us stayed) and the mattress and topper were not good when I stripped the bed on leaving - tired and grubby. The carpets were grubby and need replacing- I guess this is reflected in the price. The downstairs toilet smelt awful. I could say more but I won't. I am somewhat surprised that more recent guests haven't mentioned anything. Sorry to say, the whole place needs a glow up. If you are looking for a no frills. cheap stay, this cottage is fine.

Positive: Lovely cottage which was very well presented. The Christmas decorations were an added bonus as well as the tea / coffee / milk and biscuits. Good variety of local walks for the dogs.
Negative: The water in the sink took a long time to drain away. On street parking.

Positive: Cosy. Warm. Lovely location. Everything we needed apart from a potato masher! Close to lovely pub.
Negative: Only downside was parking. No parking outside cottage.
