Positive: I stayed with Alda whilst attending to a family bereavement. She was incredibly warm and outgoing. We had enjoyable chats over breakfast before I headed out for the day. The kitchen is well stocked, the bedroom comfortable and the bathroom clean. Alda made my stay peaceful and smooth, which I greatly appreciated given my circumstances.
Negative: Read the House Rules. This is more for guests to consider and something I had no issue with myself: guests should understand that they're staying in Alda's house, where she, her family and her pets live. This is not a hotel, and guests should consider it more similar to staying with a relative. If guests read the house rules, they'll know what to expect and have no issues.

Positive: Pros: location was convenient for where we wanted to go. Alda accommodated our needs well and made sure everything went smoothly with our stay. It felt like a retreat because of the forest. Wi-fi, TV and kitchen are good. Cons: This is just my personal thing, but I don’t like tap water much. Make sure to buy water. Otherwise, everything was good.

Positive: The host Alda was very friendly and keen to address any needs I raised e.g. setting up a new fan in my room. I also appreciated nice touches like chocolates in the room and the towels wrapped in a ribbon. It felt homey (largely due to being the host's own home, which was fine for me as I didn't mind being considerate of that and following the rules that are set out about use of shared spaces).

Positive: It provided cost effective accommodation in an expensive city. Probably better suited for a commercial traveler than holiday maker. It has free WiFi. Room contains standard bedroom furniture and a small computer desk.
Negative: Beecroft is a lovely leafy suburb with older style houses. This property however is not as mentioned in Beecroft but in a newish residential estate in West Pennant Hills. It is a 6-8 minute drive to either Beecroft or Cherrybrook where you can find the Metro/Rail services and eateries. Closest is a Coles Supermarket being a 5 minute drive away. The owner was away for most of my stay so it was run by family members who I would guess did not have the same passion Alda has. Their basic knowledge of the area appeared to be lacking i.e. what is the closest rail station, where is the best place to eat etc. The room was one of 2 spare bedrooms that are rented out. My room was the smaller one of the two and tended to get hot. It had only a small oscillating box fan to cool it (it however no longer oscillated). There is no TV. Personally, I felt uncomfortable being in a strangers house and more so as I rarely saw the couple said to live there.
Summary: Great for those on a tight budget.
