Colloritto is an old farmhouse in a hill top position in the wonderful countryside west of Siena. It lies 12 Km far from Casole d’Elsa and 9 from Radicondoli, both typical medieval villages still retaining their charm and original character. Colloritto is a perfect jump off point to explore the enchanting Tuscany, including the Maremma seashore. City of art such as Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, Volterra, Monteriggioni, Massa Marittima are easily accessible on good roads. Colloritto was built over an Etruscan site. The place was inhabited since then. The nature lovers will enjoy walks on the nearby paths (there are no fences or barriers anywhere), and also the river reserves and wildlife sanctuaries of the area. Culinary specialities from land and sea await your discovery. The famous wine region “Chianti” is only 25 km away. Each of the two apartments has its own patio and garden, from which our guests can enjoy the panoramic views and peace.

Summary: 624 / 5.000 Patricia and Gabriele are wonderful hosts. The beautiful view from the garden and the outdoor dining area puts you in the perfect holiday mood. You rent the ground floor of an old house where it stays cool inside (constant 25-26°C) even when it is hot outside during the day (36°C). We explored Florence, Siena and other beautiful places in day trips and even spent a few days at the beach (1.5 hours drive). If you need any information abut the neighborhood, daytrips or just some additional tools for your kitchen, Gabriele and Patricia are very helpful. In addition, we did several bike tours, but expect some steep hills in the Tuscan countryside! So, the 3-week holiday went by way too quickly, it was lovely.

Summary: We spent only 4 days in house Olmi of Gabriele and Patricia, but would have spent several days more of our holiday here, if we had known how nice it is. We came with our dog. It is possible to go hiking for more then an hour direct in the environment of the house. We enjoyed the private garden an the amazing views in the valley a lot. Tourist attractions like Volterra and San Gimignano are easily reachable by car. Siena is also within reach by car. The house has everything you can wish for to feel at home. I can recommend this house to everyone.

Summary: Lovely hosts with great helpfulness and great tips for excursions, food and wine. A large and clean apartment with wonderful furnishings. Particularly noteworthy is the private garden area with its own small pool and fantastic views. Just be aware that for the wonderful peace and quiet of the place, you have to accept that a car is essential for all kinds of tours and restaurant visits.

Summary: Colloritto is just gorgeous. Felt just like I had imagined Tuscany would feel like. The apartment is amazing and has beautiful furniture and is well equipped. The hosts were lovely and easy to deal with. If you expect a pool though be sure to enquire it is set up as I had searched and filtered properties with pools but when we arrived it wasn’t there. Would have have been pleasant on those hot evenings. Apart from this we absolutely loved our stay here and would highly recommend to anyone wanting a base to travel the wider Tuscany region

Summary: Great place very open and spacious. Everything was explained to us and where items were kept. We had a lovely garden area for our use only. It is out of the way, but that is what we wanted and got in spades. The sunsets were spectacular and the views were amazing. The cats were an extra special treat especially for an animal lover! We will be back. Communication was great.

Summary: Our stay at this 500 year old stone farmhouse in the Tuscan hills exceeded all expectations. If you are an antique lover you are in for a treat. The house is full of beautiful old furniture. Gabriele and Patrizia are great hosts - very helpful in everything we asked of them. The location on a hill overlooking the Tuscan countryside is sublime. Drinking in the view while enjoying the complimentary bottle of homemade wine was a great start to a week of exploration of this magical area. Within easy driving distance of many hilltop towns and villages, as well as the famed Chianti wine region, we explored and reveled in the history and culture of Toscana! We even made a trip the beach one day! It is a little hard to find - we drove right by the entrance road a few times! But if you follow the clear driving directions that Gabriele sends ( as we obviously didn't!) then you should be fine. I heartily recommend Colloritto for a great Tuscan getaway - but you do need a car!

Summary: Staying at Patrizia and Gabriele’s Tuscany farm house was more than we ever imagined. Coming from the US, we don’t have places that are 500+ years old to stay in. This house is surrounded by miles upon miles of breathtaking views of the Tuscan landscape. Just standing outside on their porch and breathing in the clean air was so refreshing. When we arrived, we were greeted by the couple that owns the home and shown around the property. They even had a bottle of wine waiting for us. The house is very roomy and comfortable. You will definitely need a car if you stay here. One of the biggest highlights of our stay was that we were only 20 mins from my favorite Italian city, Siena! Thanks Patrizia and Gabriele for sharing your remarkable piece of Tuscany with us!

Summary: I have stayed all over the central Tuscany region in agriturismos, borgos, hotels and private villas and I have finally found the perfect location and accommodations for my visits. Colloritto is a fantastic space on the ground floor of a 500 year old country home in the beautiful Tuscan hills. The Olmi “apartment” consists of 2 large bedrooms, large kitchen fully equipped, one bathroom with shower and two large living areas; one with a large wood burning fireplace (plenty of firewood) the other with a billiard table. There are multiple terraces with comfortable seating all around the villa and depending on the time of day you will seek out the perfect spot to soak in the tranquility. The owners who stay in the upstairs apartment at times are extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the region and are always willing to give you excellent advice. They do not invade your privacy in anyway and actually are only there when you need them. Travelers who know this region of Tuscany should consider this property for their next stay. Check out Gippo very nearby for bicycle rentals of all types including power assisted and Vespa’s. I won’t even begin to write about the villages and restaurants nearby or you would be reading a book.

Summary: I Loved Olmi House in Coloritto (Olmi is the apartment in the big house - Coloritto!). The place was spotless and oh so authentic. For a house that is over 500 years old, it is very comfortable. If you are looking for luxury accommodations, keep looking. But if you are looking for gorgeous views and nature, this is it. The owners, Gabriele and Patrizia are super people. They go out of their way to see that you have everything that you need. There was a bottle of wine and a bottle of water waiting for me. I was weary of directions after getting lost coming from Florence. I got totally confused and didn't go far enough on the road. I called Gabriele and he drove to me and I followed him to Collorito. There are 9-10 outdoor cats and I loved watching them. Some are friendlier than others. You don't have to have any interaction with them if you prefer. I will come back here to stay. There are many beautiful Tuscan Hill towns around. It's not far from San Gimignano, Siena, Volterra and Colle di Val d'Este (great for the old part of town on a hill). There are several restaurants within 10-15 kilometers. There's a very good one in Monsanto - there's only one! I definitely recommend a stay here😊 Thank you Patrizia and Gabriele!
