Positive: Peter and Michelle are really exceptionnel hosts. We enjoyed our stay with them on Hilltop Whakaipo Estate a lot (in capitals and with 3 t's :-) ) Breakfast fresh for you whatever you like and if necessary they offer a second helping. The estate is beautifully located and maintained with love and passion. 3 friendly dogs (bigger ones) are also part of the accomodation. When you want to play with them, you can. If not, the dogs accept. We stayed 4 nights and not once heard a bark. Drive to Taupo around 10-15 minutes, but that didn't bother us. If chance occurs, we definitely will stay with them again.

Positive: Best viewing if you decide to live in somewhere like this. When you wake up in the morning, the first light from the sun break into the room and you suddenly feel, 'oh what a wonderful day', this is what vacation means isn't it. The room comes with billiards and darts if you just want to stay in.
Negative: Location would be the one and the only problem of this property -- however you should already aware this before you check in. For example if I want to go to town after 9pm I will feel a little bit hard to drive on the gravel road or on the country highway.
Summary: Worth it.

Positive: Peter and Michelle’s place is so so beautiful. Everything was impeccable - the room, the amenities, the breakfast and of course the view from the property. Peter is an exceptional host and a great cook! The breakfast was so yum. We had such a great time and will definitely be back for sure.
Negative: Nothing that we don’t like.
