Within a 1.5-mile walk, you can also reach Marine Barracks/Barracks Row, US Capitol, Supreme Court, Library of Congress, Lincoln Park, H Street Corridor, and many great dining and grocery locations. Summary: Not only was the house everything we expected but quite a bit more. It had all of the amenities that allowed us to live so very comfortably as if we were at home. We were able to get up and make breakfasts etc. We were able to lay around and watch TV or have a dinner in the dining room. It was absolutely perfect. Everything is very clean and organized. Honestly, we didn’t want to leave, but of course we had to. We definitely hope it will be available next time we come into town.

Summary: My husband, my sister in law, brother in law and I were 100% happy with this VRBO. The communication was quick and easy. The home was not only clean, it was cozy and comfortable. There were various “extras” like K-cups, poopourri, and hand lotion. We saw everything we needed, but IF we were to return to the area we 100% would rebook this home.

Summary: We had a wonderful stay in this Capital Hill home. A perfect location, easily accessible by the Metro. The home is beautiful and very well appointed with comfy furnishings and a nicely stocked kitchen (we will forever have kitchen envy especially about the special spice cabinet). Communication with Grace was easy and gracious, a terrific host. Best restaurant in the area is Pacci - yummy large portions with plenty for leftovers the next day. You won’t go wrong with your stay in this home/location while visiting DC.

Summary: Just finished a 3-day weekend in DC (family of 3) and couldn't have been happier, more comfortable, or better situated than in this updated and well-appointed historic Capitol neighborhood home. Everything is just as it is presented in the listing -- except the communications with the owner Grace were beyond anything I could have ever expected. Our trip was plagued with schedule and itinerary changes and Grace was more accommodating with each version I presented -- handled everything "Grace-fully!" Uber was our transport of choice -- never had to wait more than a few minutes for pickup -- and everywhere we wanted to go was easily within 5 - 7 minute rides. And the proximity to the Capitol and the Mall from such a quiet and friendly neighborhood was a bonus. The house is beautiful and quiet -- very comfortable open floor plan, welcoming family room with comfortable furniture, very well-equipped kitchen, incredibly comfortable beds and bathrooms. All contributed to a restful getaway once we returned from our "tourist" visits.Book it!RickColorado

Summary: This place was perfect in all ways. The neighborhood is a safe, family-oriented area with lots of trees and well-kept gardens. The home was impeccable and had everything we needed. Being there for only a weekend, we could not take full advantage of all the home had to offer. We could have staged a Thanksgiving dinner there. The AC worked well - something we really care about. The front room was a bit bright in the mornings, so bring eye-shades. The master was dark and cozy in the mornings - have not slept so well in months. I wish we had more time to spend in this home. Next time we will be sure to make dinner there instead of planning to go out. We will rebook this place at least 2x per year when we visit our daughter. No point looking elsewhere. Also, the communication with the owner was great. She was super accommodating. Altogether an awesome experience! (Oh, and the shower pressure was epic!)

Summary: I’m originally from the DC area. My husband and I stayed to visit friends, catch a performance at the Kennedy Center, hike and bike. The house is conveniently located near the Metro, and within walking distance of Trader Joes and several fantastic shops. (We strolled to Wine & Butter twice.) The kitchen was well stocked with spices and cookware (including a French press for coffee). For cyclists- the house is only a short drive to the entrance and parking area for the C&O canal path. We did a fun 50 mile ride (we have gravel bikes, but there’s a paved trail too). Great place for long runs, too. Moderate drive up to Harpers Ferry for several hiking options. We did the Stone Fort hike, and the views were amazing. On our theater night, we walked to the Metro and took the free Kennedy Center shuttle from the GWU Metro station. Easy and extremely convenient. We walked from the house to visit the mall and museums. Might be a bit long for kids, but there are several convenient Metro stops. We had no issues with parking, and the neighborhood is quiet with a nearby park. Communication with the host was really easy. No problem accessing the rental. The house was very clean, and the kitchen was perfect for meals. Really enjoyed our stay.
