You will enter the apartment from the back deck, leading you into a quaint porch and then into the well-stocked kitchen. You will find a full bathroom, dining room, living room, and a bedroom with a queen bed for sleeping. The laundry room is in the basement and is the only area in the house that is shared. You will have access to the basement through a door inside the apartment. This door will auto-lock if you shut it. The door code can be found after you book in the app under the arrival guide.
Our home is located on a main road, so you may hear some traffic noise, especially during peak hours. While many guests find it manageable and still enjoy a comfortable stay, we want to be upfront so there are no surprises.
If you like to barbecue, we have a grill outside and patio furniture for you to hang out on.
To keep our nightly rates low, we do not provide consumables such as paper towels, shampoo, conditioner, etc. You will have enough toilet paper and hand soap for the start of your stay; however, if you run out, you'll need to replenish.
Please notify us if anything does not work or is broken.
We are open to any recommendations to improve the stay.
No overnight on-street parking is allowed in Anoka. There is a designated driveway parking space available for 1 car. An additional vehicle may be parked in the driveway, only with prior approval from your host.
This home is conveniently located just a pleasant walk to downtown Anoka, where you will find many restaurants, bars, breweries, theaters, shops, and antique stores. Walk out the front door and across the street to the Mad Hatter Restaurant and Tea House. The home is 30 minutes to downtown Minneapolis, 45 minutes to downtown St Paul, 50 minutes to MSP Airport, 55 minutes to the Mall of America, and 15 minutes to the National Sports Center in Blaine.
Do you love to golf? There are several courses within 15 minutes of this home. Including Green Haven, which is off main street in Anoka, and the TPC Twin Cities course, where you can watch the pros play at the PGA tournament every summer.
Anoka was built-up in the mid-1800s around logging operations, where the Rum River and the mighty Mississippi River come together. Later, the town profited from potato production, shoe manufacturing, and a state-run hospital.
By 1937, Anoka became nationally recognized as a Halloween destination when 12-year-old Harold Blair won a trip to Washington D.C and brought with him a sweater sewn with an Anoka the Halloween patch on it and a proclamation that named Anoka as the Halloween Capital of the World. It was also one of the first cities in the United States to put on a Halloween celebration that discourages people from playing tricks or causing trouble. Summary: Everything was clean and comfortable. The old house had a lot of character and was spacious! The bathroom with the shower was a bit small but doable. House is close to a busy street and is a bit noisy at night. Kitchen was clean and well stocked. Was a bit too far from my relatives so probably won’t stay again, but very lovely home.

Summary: House was perfect to accommodate our relatively large and young family. A/C, kitchen, laundry, and bath all worked great. Location was convenient to major highways, but also walkable to shops and restaurants in downtown Anoka. Relatively quiet neighborhood….a few colorful characters (mostly around the nearby river walk), but never felt unsafe. Would definitely stay again.

Summary: We were in town to visit family living in near by towns. For us it was a great location to get to near by family and walk to downtown for shopping and restaurants. House has large bedrooms upstairs and all the things you need to stay & relax. Bathrooms are old home MN with no luxury spa feeling but clean and in good working condition. It's a beautiful historic home.

Summary: We found this home to be spacious and clean. It is comfortably furnished (including the beds), and the kitchen is well stocked. Beware that the single shower is small. The homeowners requested that no shoes be worn in the house, which I found to be uncomfortable. It's an all-around good find.

Summary: The house is old as describe in the listing. The kitchen is probably the only area that is pretty modern. One thing I will like to note is that the shower bathroom does not have a lock. Someone else could open the door without realizing someone is using it. Would have been nice to have this in the description. Overall it was decent for the price you’re paying for.
