Nacogdoches House | Historic home on 2+ wooded acres w/ pool in heart of Nacogdoches

4 Bedroom House in Nacogdoches

This spacious home sits on 2+ wooded acres in the center of Nacogdoches. The property is walking distance (north) to SFA University campus, (south) to the historic Nacogdoches downtown, (east) to Pecan Park/Lanana Creek/the Lanana Creek Trail, and (west) to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. The large wooded property provides tons of space and privacy with an in-ground pool and private gated access to the expansive Pecan Park (our property backs up to the park) and beautiful Lanana Creek Trail. The trail is great for runners and walkers alike and takes you through a scenic tour of the middle of Nacogdoches. Pecan Park also has a nice Frisbee golf course, if that's your jam.
Guests will enjoy a historic home with a recently renovated kitchen. The home has two separate master suites, one downstairs and one up. Here is a breakdown of the sleeping accommodations:
- Downstairs master: king size bed and comfortable sofa. In the photos, this is the room with the purple bedspread and the pink tile bathroom.
- Upstairs master: king size bed. In the photos, this is the room with the light blue and white color scheme, with the white bathroom. Small, temperature-controlled side room has optional toddler bed and crib (and a large desk).
- Upstairs guest room 1: queen size bed. In the photos, this is the room with the turquoise walls.
- Upstairs guest room 2: two twin beds, comfortable sofa, and crib.
- Formal living room: two comfortable sofas.
The home has a rich history. It was originally built in approximately 1941 by a prominent Nacogdoches family. It was then sold to the First Baptist Church in 1957 and then used as the church's parsonage for almost 20 years. In the 1970s, the home was purchased by one of the first specially trained surgeons in Nacogdoches. It remained in his family for more than 40 years, during which time the property fell into poor condition. Our family purchased the property in 2018 and began the gradual restoration process. We have worked very hard since we purchased it, and our work will continue for many years to come. It is a creaky old home with strong bones, ample space both indoors and out, and in an unbeatable location, all offered for considerably less than what a family would spend per person for comparable hotel space.
We love our home and our neighbors, and we hope that you will also! Please note that this home is not suitable for loud or rowdy gatherings, or for any gathering in which alcohol may be consumed to excess. Instead, it is a peaceful, convenient location for making cherished family memories. The home is fully furnished, and utilities + wifi are included. Guests interested in rentals of longer than 30 consecutive days , please feel free to message us to inquire about long-term furnished rental rates.
We very much enjoy having a glimpse into who you are! In your request to book, please consider helping us by including a short description of the guests in your group and what brings you to town.

Summary: We stayed here for my daughters graduation. We needed a home that would sleep 3 families and was close to campus. The house was very clean and accommodating. It has a lot to do outside like swimming, grilling or just hanging out and talking. The house was fantastic but I think the best part of this rental was the owner. Communication was always abundant and timely. We had a bad storm one night that caused some dropped tree limbs and Robert came out first thing and cleared all the debris so that we could go about our plans. Great home and fantastic people. Highly recommended.

Summary: I lived in Nacogdoches for over 20 years and my children grew up there. I wanted to rent a place large enough for my grown children, spouses, and 2 twin grandchildren (10 months old). We were all very excited to spend a weekend taking a trip down memory lane. The property is absolutely gorgeous. The outdoor area is amazing, with a large covered area, plenty of chairs and tables and beautiful pool. It is secluded and private although walking distance to downtown. We were all very comfortable in our rooms. As soon as we walked in we felt at home - perfect Nacogdoches vibe. Central heat/air works great, large screen tv available in an awesome sitting room with beautiful view where we enjoyed Sunday football (via Roku). Kitchen is well stocked including nice coffee maker. I hope it is still listed in a couple years - we all want to do it again!!

Summary: The house has plenty of room. Kitchen has obviously just been renovated and was very nice. Master bath is nice- other baths need renovation. I’m assuming this will be done eventually as the hosts are not finished yet. Some towels are worn and need to be replaced. Pool was beautiful but disappointed hot tub heater was not working. Hosts explained it had just happened. Very responsive hosts, immediately brought over tub mat and turned on waterfall shortly after asked. Floors were not as clean as expected- some dust and litter on them. Master bedroom ceiling not finished. Master bath not spotless- I had to clean it before using. Good amount of cleaning supplies, dishes, glasses etc. Price seemed a little high since renovations are not complete. We had a nice stay, however.
