They can’t this house is so big and beautiful you have to walk thru the door to understand just how special a place this is . Most of the furniture was custom made specifically for this home . It has an Historic dining room with seating for 12 . Butlers pantry. 10 burner garland chiefs stove . 2 fridges. 2 freezers. 2 restaurant Dishwashers that do a load of dishes in3 minutes! 2 clothes washers 2 dryers . 5 full baths one half bath . Patio /Veranda seats 20, chairs tables etc lighting with wrap around patio. 1 acre of land on Lakeview Ave . Solarium room seats 20 . large patio off the main living room. 5 fireplaces . Barroom with seating and cable TV . Maids quarters on 3rd floor . Servants stairs . WiFi . Cable tv . 2 parking lots ! park your RV or your boat or both plus up to 30 cars !!! Beautiful gardens front back and side yards . Mansion is 6000 square feet . Seating for 52 people on first floor as is ! This is a big beautiful house! Air conditioned rooms throughout building all bedrooms have air conditioners as well as 2 large units on first floor the house is comfortable . Stereo in 3 large rooms on first floor . Large music library or bring your own music or plug in your iPhone and play your music in 3 different rooms . This house has hosted celebrities and is the primer home in Jamestown NY Laundry in basement 2 washers 2 dryers . Retro turntable in 4 th bedroom! All cable channels. WiFi boosters throughout Mansion . It’s a great fun house. Completely private and secluded. You will be amazed !

5 bedrooms on the second floor and 4 full baths plus one more small bedroom and full bath on the 3rd floor. We also have a new inflatable queen mattress which inflates in minutes is full size and height and can be placed anywhere and it’s comfortable! Great for people who have trouble with steps or for large groups. There is also a full living room suite attached to the master bedroom. Seats 6 has a full couch which can sleep one person . cable TV and internet through out the house. 4 large smart TVs and excellent internet thru the house inside and out . I live in this house part time it’s my home it has everything you can want and it’s only the best because that’s what I prefer. Come enjoy the Sheldon House and you will have a great time.

Summary: This older but grand house was a delight to inhabit for our annual sibling retreat. We're all about hanging out together, cooking and eating and playing, and this was spacious and well-equipped. The weather was rainy and cool, but we had so much space to play games, watch movies, and relax that we didn't mind!

Summary: The house was perfect for our group and communication with Edward was amazing! You can tell he is very passionate about the house and takes great care of the house! There is so much history in this house and he is so knowledgeable and willing to share everything he knows about the house! There was even a whole packet that he has been working on that we could read to learn more about the house! This house is huge and fit our group perfectly! Would definitely return again!

Summary: This house was built for a wealthy family and their staff, and it shows in the layout, with several very large bedrooms and a few smaller ones too. The kitchen is tucked away from the rest of the house, but has everything you need for cooking for a crowd. We baked bread, roasts, and at one point had at least 5 of the 10 burners going on the top. When we arrived, the windchill was -30 and I think it may have been one of the coldest days on record. The lockbox froze but Ed was super supportive in helping us get into the house even though he was out of town himself. Even with ~100 degree difference between the outside air and that inside, the house stayed warm. We were grateful for its size because the blizzard basically kept us inside for two days and there was still lots to explore. If you’re looking for a sizeable property to gather a bunch of people, which has lots of character and space, this is an excellent find. And Ed couldn’t be more helpful, always ready to make sure we had all we needed. The only deduction for cleanliness is that I think several of us had our dust allergies kick up a bit. There are so many nooks and crannies that I imagine the cleaners just hadn’t gotten around to a deep clean of our room in a while, but this is an issue easily fixed.

Summary: We were in town for a family wedding and needed a gathering place for family. This home met every single need and exceeded expectations. We are also a family of history geeks, so enjoyed a chance to stay at one of Jamestown’s historic grand old homes. The kitchen and dining spaces were perfectly setup for feeding a crowd. The 10-burner stove was a dream to use! There was also plenty of dishes, etc. (all glass/china). Edward was very responsive to my many questions. And spent a lot of time with us at checkin and giving a extensive tour. We would definitely rent here again.
